Lightstrike cushion and Gore-Tex Top Tech

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fantastic trail sneakers. Lightstrike midsole cushion and Gore-Tex waterproofing tech is superb. Fit and comfort is spot-on and the heel-to-toe drop is just right.

Shoe is good quality and easy to run in.

It was a little snug so next time I think I would go with a wider option

New Goretex: less comfortable.

When will Adidas use good Goretex again? New Goretex: wears out faster, feet sweat more, less comfortable.

Great winter runner!!!

Great winter runner. You can get away wearing them in the summer but your feet would sweat like crazy due to the gore Tex. It’s a tad on the narrow side but honestly it’s just right. When on a trail you want to have a secure fit. And this defy purely gives that to you. No internal slippage at all in fact you can even get away wearing these as a daily winter shoe, they’re that comfortable. Not super cushy but just enough. Of course I wish it had light strike pro my favourite foam but it’s still very comfortable. Highly recommend.

GTX stitching = design flaw

Really wanted these to work as I love the Agravic platform & feel, but the GTX tongue was stitched in so tight, I couldn't get my foot in the shoe! Had to return. Weird design flaw. Size 10 which is what I normally wear.

Excellent grip, fully waterproof

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great trail running / hiking shoe. Having come from a rival brand this is my first time owning an Adidas trail running trainer. first impression were they come up 1/2 a size smaller and they took about a week for me to properly break in and my body posture to adjust to them. however after the 1st week these are now super comfortable, have amazing grip and totally waterproof. would highly recommend.

Great Grip on Snow/Ice but there are some issues.

I purchased the Adidas Men's Terrex Agravic GTX Trail-Running Shoe for running in the snow and on ice during the long WNY winters. Out of the box, in order to get the shoes on, I needed to open up the laces all the way. This is because of the narrow mid-foot and the added height of the heel counter due to the gaiter. Once I got the shoes on I found the toe-box to be really tight, putting pressure on my pinky toe. I was wearing Smartwool PHD winter running socks which are a bit thicker than regular running socks. Adidas's own website recommends sizing up .5" cause the shoes run small based on reviews. Once the shoes were on, I went on several short 3 mile runs lasting about 45 min's each over 3 days. I found the grip of the out-sole to be phenomenal on ice and hard-pack snow that has iced over. On par with my IceBug Newrun studded running shoes. The Adidas Men's Terrex Agravic GTX Trail-Running Shoe also did very well in soft snow of only about an .5 inch. Sadly the lugs are too shallow to help with running in several inches or more. But even my Hoka SpeedGoat 4's don't do well in that type of snow. I didn't experience any discomfort during my initial road testing due to the narrow mid-foot or the tight toe-box. In fact the shoes have started to loosen up a bit. I might still put a "shoe stretcher" in them to see if it has any affect. I brought my usual size 9.5" medium (D) and length wise the shoe is okay. If I went up a size I was worried about heel slippage which I don't have now. Overall these shoes are okay for the intended purpose of running in Winter days when I want to give my feet and ears a break from studded running shoes. I don't use Goretex to keep the rain out but to keep my feet warm in the snow and it worked great for that. As an aside, the shoes didn't arrive in a Adidas box.
