Keep your Dog Safe and Fits in Cargo Space V60
Purchased with REI member discount Solid dog crate. I encourage you to validate your dog's dimensions and to reference both the car fit and dog's whither height. My border Collie mix is approximately 19" at whithers and 29" nose to butt. He fits in a Gunner M. The Thule fit guide recommended a M but when I compared M dimensions and made allowances to estimate the interior space, I thought that Allax M would be too big for my dog. I believe car crates should be a snug fit to keep dog from excessive shifting around. The Allax S is a bit bigger functional interior space than the Gunner M. So he does fit in the S, he is it the top end of S fit. He would float in a M. I am pleased. Carefully measure your dog. Solid car crate.
Perfect for my Frenchie
I bought the Thule Allax S for my French Bulldog, Bowser, and it’s been excellent. The build quality is solid and feels very secure, which was my main concern. It fits well in my car without taking up unnecessary space, and there’s still enough room for my pup and groceries. Bowser seems comfortable and calm inside it, even on longer drives. It’s open enough for my Frenchie to stay cool on long car rides without feeling like he’s in a cage or doggy prison. The ventilation and design are well thought out, and it’s easy to get him in and out without any hassle. You can tell this isn’t cheap, it’s made to last and actually protect your dog. If you care about safety and quality, this is 100% worth it.

I got this crate for my 50 lb. cattle dog mix to ride safely in my 2024 Subaru Forester. She fits snugly in this crate, and it is fine for driving around town, but I think it might be too small for longer road trips. The Medium size was too long to fit in my trunk. I wish there was a Small option that was a little wider. It was very easy to assemble, and I have not had any issues with the function. My dog seems very comfortable as she easily jumps in and out of it, and I feel a lot better keeping her safe in the car :)
Best crate for travel ever!
Having had all different brands of crates these Thule crates are by far the best. Crash tested, quiet (no rattling while driving), great ventilation, lots of room. I also purchased the leash hooks and bags and they are perfect compliment to the system. Would HIGHLY recommend for anyone looking for the safest transport option for their dog!
Great fit in Model Y, not one sound from it!
Was looking for a cage for my two mini sausage dogs and the small one was perfect fit. Wanted one that was completely noiseless and this fit the bill.
