I recently tested the Opolis Stoked Snow Goggles with Rose Polarized Lenses over two days at Snowbird Ski Resort in Utah. For context, I wore these goggles with a Giro helmet on one bright, sunny day and another cloudy, snowy day. Lens Performance: The rose polarized lenses provided impressive clarity and resisted fogging on both test days. I use rose lenses for mountain biking because they provide a good balance of light transmission when riding in and out of forested terrain. I suspect these lenses probably provide similar capabilities, but in my testing I didn’t spend much time in the woods because it was still early in the season. In bright light the red lenses were not dark enough and I needed to frequently shield my eyes with a gloved hand. The lenses performed better in snowy conditions, but still did not provide as much contrast as I would have liked. A darker lens would make for a better primary lens choice. What I did like was the interchangeable lens system, which uses magnetic attachment points. This made swapping lenses a breeze. The goggles also came with a clear lens for extreme low-light or night riding. Fit and Comfort: While the goggles fit seamlessly with the Giro helmet at the top, gaps on the sides allowed air to penetrate, which could lead to discomfort in colder or windier conditions. Additionally, there was significant pressure on my nose while wearing these goggles. I do have a larger nose bridge, so this may not be an issue for someone with a small bridge or a different helmet combination. Storage and Protection: Another item I liked was the sturdy soft-sided storage case which doesn’t take up as much space in the gear bag as a hard-sided case. Overall Impression: The Opolis Stoked Snow Goggles shine in lens clarity, ease of interchangeability, and versatility with the included clear lens. However, the fit issues and the brightness of the rose lense will relegate these goggles to the closet more often than I would like.
I got my first chance to try out the Opolis StokedSnow Goggles at Ski Bluewood with 2024 winding down. I am stoked about the goggles for several reasons. First off, the fit was very comfortable, fitting nicely around my face. The head strap is very high quality and can fit as firm as you need it. I loosened for my liking ... the strap adjusted easily. The google is well constructed. I am impressed with overall quality. I only used the blue lens but tried swapping in the amber lens as a test, and after about 10 seconds figuring out how to swap, it was pretty much effortless. I like the styling ... maybe extra so because the blue lens matches my ski jacket. That aside, I really do think they are appealing. And last, but not least, I am really pleased to be able to buy a product that uses recycled materials. My ski poles are recycled aluminum, and for me it is a huge plus that these googles are made from recycled water bottles. No hesitation on recommending these goggles.
I really wanted to like these. I love the use of recycled materials. They seem to be a top quality, well made goggle. The quick lens exchange system is a really interesting innovation, and they come with two lenses – high and low light. Sounds great! However, I had the white frames with the Rose polarized lens. To put it bluntly, the Rose lens is unacceptable. The reflection on the inside of the lens is out of control, so on a bright sunny day, you will regret your purchase. Even in moderate overcast midday light, there is still an annoying amount of reflection that interferes with your vision. The main problem is that I think it’s supposed to be an anti reflective coating like you see on so much eyewear. But it’s gone too far, and it’s practically a mirrored finish on the inside of the lens. It’s unacceptable. The other part of the problem is that the frames are white, and they are white on the interior as well, where it compounds the problem. The interior needs to be black, or super dark, to reduce glare. Imagine driving your car on a sunny day with a neon pink piece of paper up on your dash. That's all you can see out of this lens - a big pink reflection. I wore these on day one, skiing in bright sunshine. Day two, again in bright sun, and despite needing to review them, I couldn’t bring myself put them on again. So I left them in the car, while I wore something else. That’s pretty bad. Day three was overcast and I used them again with the same obnoxious reflection. Later on day three, I switched to the low light lens and those were fine. The low light lens does not suffer from the same reflection problem. I found it to be a decent lens in overcast or low light conditions. The lens exchange system is a real innovation, and has a lot of potential. I would love to see it become the new standard. But if one lens is useless, you essentially bought a one-lens low light goggle. Sadly, the only thing you’ll be exchanging, is these goggles for something else at the store. At the moment, the manufacturer’s website only has one low light replacement lens available (same lens that comes with the goggles), so you can’t really add anything to your quiver of lenses.
The Opolis Stoked Snow Goggles were sent to me as a free promotion to test them and review. 2 different lenses were included and a really nice carrying case. As my face is a much smaller female one, my husband got the pleasure of testing them. He's been skiing a long time, and has tried several brands and fits, and appreciated the comfort and function of these. Features he appreciated: They fit well, didn't fog, the lenses were easy to change from the storm lens to the every day lens. We both appreciate that they're made from recycled ocean plastic! We'd both recommend these to purchase for someone that doesn't have a smaller face or a low nose bridge.
Here is what I want in a pairs of goggles: fits nicely along my helmet to prevent icy cold wind freezing my head, lens options as the Colorado sun is bright some days and then light can be flat other days, and proper tint for UV protection- I don’t want a headache from the glare of the sun. Last I want the goggles to look nice and be comfortable- no pinch spots. These goggles fit the bill and I like how they look. They are very functional and have many lens options, plus they are extremely high quality,
Opolis has made a name for itself by pulling plastic form oceans and converting that into raw materials for their eyewear, but the "StokedSnow" goggles are way more than just super sustainable; these goggles perform well thanks to their highly effective venting (no fogging!), have an incredibly easy-to-use interchangeable lens system (that is the easiest to swap of any goggles I've owned), and are comfortable enough to wear all day. The goggles use magnets to snap lenses into place, making swaps super easy even on the mountain with cold hands. I've got the main blue lens (VLT 69.3%) and the main orange lens (VLT 36.4%), both of which feature anti-fog coating and 100% UV protection. The overall clarity of these lenses is top-notch and each works admirably under variable conditions. The googles frame and strap are very comfortable whether using them with a ski helmet, bike helmet, or just a beanie. The straps are also replaceable, should you ever tear or rip one during a sick tree run. I have an average sized face for a 6' male and these things fit perfectly. Overall, I would highly recommend these for their environmentally-focused manufacturing and quality design.
I got a sample of the Opolis Goggles recently and took them out for a spin, downhill skiing in New York State. First off, they look great—super clean design and feel really solid. They’re made from recycled materials, which is a nice bonus. The fit was snug, though the nose area felt a little too tight for me. The top of the goggles aligned nicely with my helmet, so there wasn’t an air gap. The frame around the lens felt solid and allowed me to place them on a surface without risk of damaging the edge of the lens. The lenses are super clear and didn’t fog up at all, which is a lifesaver on the mountain. The lens swapping system felt secure and was easy to use. Overall, they’re a great pair of goggles that balance performance and sustainability. Would definitely recommend!
These goggles are generally comfortable with good lenses. I think they aren’t quite a comfy as some others I’ve worn but they’re great for the price. The lense change system is super easy and they stay in there with no worry. Breathe well and don’t fog up.
It comes with a clear lense which is what I was looking for & which was very hard to find in other brands
