Great jacket with a fragile inner lining
I received the Salomon Bonatti Trail Jacket in black as a Christmas gift last year, and overall, it has been an amazing addition to my running gear. The jacket is impressively lightweight, looks sleek, and offers excellent waterproof protection. However, I’ve recently encountered an issue with the inner lining material. The thin, breathable membrane inside the jacket, which appears to be glued in place, has started to deteriorate. Running throughout the summer and sweating seems to have weakened the adhesive, causing the lining to separate and tear quite easily. I’ve had to make several home repairs, particularly on the inner sleeve. Pulling up the sleeve to check my smartwatch has led to significant tearing in this area. I’m not certain if the newer versions of this jacket have addressed this issue, but I wanted to highlight this for anyone considering a purchase. Despite this drawback, it remains my favourite running jacket overall due to its performance and comfort.

Solid choice for mountain race
Purchased for mountain trail run. Didn't experience really bad weather, but the casual conditions on 3000+ altitude are handled really well. + Indeed can be used on top of running vest. Top feature! + Lightweight and compact. Can be packed and stored in vest pocket. + Windproof and waterproof. At least for short exposure. + Durable enough to handle accidental dirt or rock sliding. + Small nice features, like front pocket with hole for the bottle or chest button for unzipped jacket. - If you have long hair or head bun, the hood won't fit well. Overall, extremely satisfied with the purchase!
Not waterproof!!!
I bought this jacket a couple months ago a wore it a few weeks ago for a one hour walk in a very light drizzle of rain. When I got home and took off the jacket my long sleeve shirt was wet on the sleeves, shoulders, chest and back areas. This jacket didn’t do what it claimed to do, to be waterproof. In fact, it wasn’t even water repellent! I bought this jacket to wear on rainy days and it didn’t delivered what it claimed to do. I’m very disappointed with this jacket and I would honestly like a refund because it didn’t keep me dry as advertised! Do not buy this jacket you’ll be wasting your hard earned money!

Awsome jacket
The new Bonatti Trail jacket is a good upgrade from the Bonatti, the older jacket could feel clammy next to the skin at times but I have not felt that at all, the jacket fitted over a full 10ltr running vest with no problem. The Jacket has a good length but is not too long and the hood fits perfectly. I also own the shake dry but will use this a little more as its more durable
Super comfortable, real waterproof shell.
Loved it so much that I already ordered a second one. It's super comfortable, and it kept me dry during a nice few hours run in the craziest rain in the Vancouver, BC, mountains.

Really nice fit and feel to the jacket - prefer this to my Gore Shakedry. Breathability not as good as let down by build up of damp on inner seams.
