I’ve had numerous ski bags of different brands, ranging in size. But I always had trouble packing them once avy safety gear is inside due to the bulk of those items. This bag gets rid of that problem with the really large any pocket and roll top. It fits more than you think it can and is easy to access the items with the good choice of zippers. It’s really light, packs down small and expands big. Waterproofing works really well and is comfortable to wear. Side note, you can actually reach the hip pocket zipper on the waist strap, most bags you can’t reach it easily. Great bag!!
The Cirque 50 Black Diamond backpack is basically that one friend who never overpacks, never forgets anything important, and somehow still has room for snacks. It has everything you need nothing less, nothing more. No weird extra straps, confortable enough to A-frame your skis, no mysterious pockets you’ll never use. Just clean, thoughtful design. It carries well, feels solid, and doesn’t try to be flashy about it. It just does its job. The only thing missing? A built-in hot pocket for backcountry onigiris. Simple and capable.
I bought this pack to be able to haul a little extra gear for those overnight missions. In the past, I would use a smaller pack with all sorts of things strapped to it. The Cirque 50 fits everything I need inside the pack perfectly. And, it straps down very small so it's easy to use the same pack to haul gear out and to tour while you're out in the backcountry. It is one large compartment, which makes it a little challenging to access the inner compartment on the fly, but the handy little side pocket is the secret weapon. When you pack, just be sure to put anything you need access to near that side zipper and it all works out. The Cirque 50 is like a large minimalist pack - there aren't a lot of extra bells and whistles, but it has everything you need. For me, it fit my need perfectly.
Love the compartments, openings, straps, and thoughtful pockets and zippers. It can compress to be the size of a day tour bag or expand to do bigger/longer tours or hut trips. My back is glad to have this option!
This pack can hold it all. Layers, stove/ fuel, rescue gear - it all can come along. It also has a light weight construction- not that this bag cares about weight but it is a great feature of the pack.
As far as backcountry ski packs go, the Cirque 50 does a great job of providing lots of storage and good compressibility. If it had a diagonal carry like the 35, I would give it 5 stars.
I got this bag for backcountry skiing this winter and am excited to use it for climbing in the summer. Great to access to gear and seems to hold both large and small loads well.
The perfect backcountry backpack (for me), can hold all my gear comfortably, but will also hold enough for short hut trips.
super légé et confortable L'acces au compartimeent est facile et le matériel reste au sec en toute condition
Great fit and ample room for all your backcountry equipment/extra layers. Built quality is very nice. 👍🏼
