almost
the search for a 20ish liter ski touring/ski mountaineering pack is getting closer to completion. This pack has most of the features that I was hoping for - roll top, side zipper access, separate avy tool/skin pocket, running vest style backpack straps with soft flask storage, and ice tool attachments. unfortunately, I have no idea why the attachment of the vest straps to the pack is a weird corded design - too much loose cord, and too complicated and flimsy to make me trust it. the pack is also on the large side for a 25L pack. Ideally it would be closer to 20 than whatever this measures out too - too similar to my 30ish liter packs to make it worthwhile for me. unfortunately, I returned. but i like the idea and concept and hope that BD refines this pack one more iteration for next season.
Great pack
I realize this is a small pack, but it holds everything I need. My only complaint is the straps, they could be more supportive. I’m not a vest user, so that may be part of it, and once I’m going I don’t notice it too much. It just seems they could make this pack with the same straps for those of us who want to drag some heavy, small items out once in a while. Sometimes those heavy small items taste really good in the backcountry.
