Black Diamond  Dirtbag Pants - Women's

I don’t know if I got a defective pair but the butt wore out in less than 8 hours. I wore them to go shopping and then to dinner. Obviously nothing strenuous. The bottom ran like a pair of cheap stockings. I really loved these so much when I put them on. I’m super disappointed.

I tried both XS and S, but neither fit quite right—something about the cut just didn’t work for me. The fabric also feels quite heavy, which makes it less suitable for bouldering in my opinion. I can see how these pants might be great for others, but unfortunately, they didn’t work for me—neither as casual wear nor for climbing.

These pants are everything. I am a busy working mother of two young children and I can't stop wearing them. The material is professional looking enough to wear to work and is especially great for work travel because they are comfortable, durable, and don't show wrinkles. They are just as great for weekend errands or trips to the playground. I've worn them on a few hikes as well. And I've work them out with a tank and fun sandals. The pockets are deep enough to carry a phone or a dozen toy cars and they are easy to spot treat or machine wash. Great pants, I would totally buy them in other colors if available.

I own two pairs. I make and move ice cream for a living and these pants are not only as tough as Carhartts but exceedingly comfortable for all the squatting, kneeling, bending, walking, standing, sitting and driving I do. Very flattering shape, full coverage over my butt, no worries about exposing underwear while at work. Great sized pockets. I've worn them from April, through the hottest part of the summer, and now into fall with no complaints. The colors are super cute, easy to dress up (for real, I wear them on date night) or wear to work. Five star pants, make more colors!

These are amazingly comfortable and so cute. I want them in all the colors!

I've been trying to find a specific type of pant for climbing and hiking and casual wear but never quite new exactly what I was looking for. This pant is exactly it. It fits true to size, very durable yet breathable and comfortable. Something I'd want to go do activities in or even hang in all day. Highly recommend and probably will be purchasing more in other colors soon.

I love these pants. They are comfortable and perfect for an active lifestyle, and also presentable to wear around town. I have a big butt and am usually between a medium and large bottom, I got the medium and they fit great. I prefer pants with a higher waist, and the waist on these are the perfect height and also stretchy enough to not be restricting. I struggle with finding pants that fit me right. I've also tried the Sequence pants and the Dogma pants from Black Diamond and they all fit me well. I'm officially hooked on Black Diamond.

I love these pants! Every time I wear them I get compliments.

I fell in love with a pair of these pants in the Tundra (mid olive drab, seems to be discontinued) color earlier in the year. I wear an XL (45" hip, 38" waist). They fit fantastically, were a nice mid-rise level, and when I had the leg rolled down, it hit just at my ankle (~29" inseam). The waist was a little on the loose side, and would slip down if I didn't use the tie and had stuff in my pockets, but I usually could tie the waist tie once and still slide them on and off. They were a little swishy when I walked, but softened up with wear and washes. I wear them a lot for work because they're great for the physical aspects of my job but look nice enough that I feel presentable and professional, too. Since I loved those, I bought a pair in XL black a few months later, assuming they'd be the same pant, just a new color. These ones sit much higher on my waist, almost to my ribs. The waist band is a lot tighter and tends to make them ride up to the narrowest point of my waist and rub, instead of sagging like the Tundra pair. They're also a little longer in the leg, which is probably a blessing for the tall, but that's not me. The black pair is much less comfortable for me and I feel like I'm constantly tugging them down and picking wedgies, since they always migrate up my body as I move. I'm not sure if the cut changes between colors or if Black Diamond changed the cut recently, but if you loved older Dirtbag pants, newer ones might be different.

Not to be dramatic but I think Black Diamond is the only company that actually references a "normal" female body when designing clothes. I have tried countless pants for climbing and these take the cake by a long shot. They are roomy, thick, mid-/high-rise, and length. I'm 5'5" with a 28" waist, 39" hips, and 29" inseam. I purchased a small and they fit loose through the hips/thighs with a bit of room in the waist. I immediately purchased a second pair and hope BD keeps making these in additional colors!
