Reasonable cost, fairly easy to replace.
Good idea to have a replacement in the field, but unfortunately you can't charge the spare while using the headlight because the charging adapter is built into the headlight and I'm not aware of another charging device.

See also my review of headlamp; the trick here is removal of the strap pay close attention to need to turn and hold the pin attached to the strap towards the lens of the lamp while sliding the pin up in direction of the switch, it should slide with minimal resistance. My complaint and deduction of stars is that the battery must be attached to the light assembly for charging; You can not use the light while your extra battery is charging!
Nice headlamp, poorly designed battery system
I really like the Distance LT 1100 headlamp, but the interchangeable battery system is really poorly designed in multiple ways. First, the battery is attached to the headband, and to swap in a new battery the headband must be taken off and put on a new battery, which involves two small parts (one on each end) and is fairly difficult to do under ideal circumstances (such as at home with dry hands). Don't even bother to try in the cold, wet, or other adverse outdoor conditions! Then, the lamp must be clicked into the new (charged) battery, which is also difficult, and involves moving a very small catch (see comments about about the dexterity needed for this 2nd step as well). Finally, a discharged battery can not be recharged without the lamp attached, so there's no way to charge one battery while using another for the light! I will be keeping the system anyway because the headlamp itself is worth 5-stars, but the interchangeable lithium battery system is basically 1-star (hence my 3-star overall rating). My recommendation: just buy the headlamp and skip the extra battery!
Move the USB to the battery please!
I love the light and the battery, but it sure would be handy. If the USB to charge it was on the battery instead of the light itself. The light has no battery, so using it as a pass-through just for the USB port is annoying. I would love to be able to charge a battery off the light
