These Goggles and lenses are great except. . . They always get at least a little condensation between the lenses, which is really annoying and impossible to get rid of without just letting them dry out for days. After a long day of riding, one night is usually not enough time to remove the moisture so you still have some floaters in your vision or worst case a massive blurry spot. I have to sunny lenses and to low visibility lenses so I can just rotate them and give the lense enough time to dry out. But at this price point I would expect them just to work day in and day out without having to have multiple lenses. The photochromatic lenses really make it so you don't have to carry two lenses in variable conditions, just sucks you can't use them multiple days in a row without some issues.
The lens inside coating bubbles and gets foggy. This was after two days of riding. I thought this was a one off but this is my second pair I bought. I bought these to replace the last smith goggles that bubbled. I won't buy again or recommend to others. This shouldn't happen with the price. Outside of bubbles they are comfortable and fit well with my smith helemt.
Con: I would not buy white frames again, when wearing the goggles the white frames throw a tiny glare up on the inside of the goggles, and it is rather annoying. But that’s on me. Pros: Goggles function amazing, and fit my Smith helmet perfectly. The quick release and magnet lenses make swapping quick and easy.
OVERALL IT IS GREAT. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE STRAP IS TOO WIDE TO FIT UNDER THE KDDPER STRAP ON THE BACK OF MY HELMET, AND THE BUCKLE ENDS UP RIGHT UNDER THAT KEEPER AS WELL. I WOULD RECOMMEND A 1/4" NARROWER STRAP AND PLACE THE BUCKLE TO ONE SIDE. THE EASY LENS CHANGE IS AWESOME.
I "upgraded" from the Squad XL to the I/O Mag XL this season. The face coverage is noticeably less with the I/O than the Squad. I also use the Rx lens inserts and the curvature on the I/O means the lens insert doesn't fit as good as it does on the Squad XL.
I hate these goggles. Nearly everything about them. They're shockingly uncomfortable (the foam is stiff and scratchy) they must be excessively tight to keep air out of your eyes, the visibility isn't really all that good for how large the frame is but the most INSANE part is the lenses and how trash they are are. . . if they get the SLIGHTEST bit moist they are ruined. What???? This is a sport based entirely upon WATER. Snowflakes in your goggles in the backcountry while it's dumping snow, hours away from the nearest warm dry indoor area for you to delicately and immediately dry your lenses?? Too bad! You can't see. Now you have to go through the whole process to warranty a new lens! And the cost!! These things are obscenely expensive for the low grade quality and near uselessness. I bought a bunch of different lenses thinking eventually I'd be able to see, was finally gifted and pair of Salomon goggles and am actually satisfied. They also don't fit well at all with my Smith helmet. Do NOT buy these.
Have used them once so far. Perfect sunny conditions, so hard to tell how they perform in poor weather. Fit well and look good. Lenses are not difficult to swap. Next day at the hill will be snowing and overcast, so we shall see how they do!
Doesn’t come with a protective case like others I’ve bought in the past and the magnetic clip is a little but finicky but overall good value. Wouldn’t buy at full price though.
First day out with these and I love them! The photochromic ability is amazing makes days like today where the clouds roll in and out, seamless and easy.
The goggle frame is missing magnets so the lens does not connect properly. I have submitted multiple requests online with no response for an exchange.
