So Hot in Smokeys!
Had these for a few months now and I absolutely love them! Huge Smokey Bear fan and I love all the details. So retro cool and great for enhancing light on gloomy days.
They look cool– but they don't last. :(
These glasses are SO COOL– but they are not very durable. Where the metal piece meets the wood on the arms gives out very easily. I have purchased multiple pairs thinking it was just an issue with a single pair, but they all have the same issue.
Plus for style, but poor scratch resistance
5 stars for styling. Build quality maybe 3 stars, slightly better than $20 sunglasses. Amber polarization worked for me. Lens scratch resistance very poor, though. Yes, I need to be more careful with my next pair. Unfortunately I rendered this pair useless within 2 months.
Almost great…
5/5 style, 3/5 build quality, 1/5 sun protection Here’s why: They look rad, love the company and the partnership, but the yellow color are NOT sunglasses—after watching a video from the company website I learned that the intended use is for vision clarity at night with bright backgrounds, like snow, and NOT for daylight. It’s misleading for Shwood to advertise these as sunglasses and I will unfortunately be returning them.
excellent style, quality issues
I purchased these because I really enjoyed how they fit and have the light filtered through the lenses. The smoke is the bear theme is an excellent anchor for an outdoor recreation company and sunglasses. Part of the money does go to the USFS and you get a swanky smoky the bear cleaning cloth and a glass case that’s basically a small sleeping bag. Definitely on point when it comes to a theme. Where it falls apart, as I had the glasses for barely a month, and when I tried to clean them, I noticed some spotting and sparkling on the interior of the lenses. There was no abuse and no use of chemicals that would cause this, and I was tremendously disappointed. When I took them back to REI I consulted with some of the co-op workers there and they agreed that they didn’t understand why it would do that Five out of five for style and comfort If they can get the lenses to not speckle, then it would be a great investment, but I had to take it back. Absolutely willing to update my review if they come out with a follow up and the quality has improved
