They arrived early the day I was leaving for a backpacking trip, so I crossed my fingers and decided to try them out. I hiked about 40 miles over 3 days, and couldn't be happier that I bought them. I like some extra protection on my feet for backpacking trips, but I'm used to barefoot shoes normally and hiking boots jam my toes together. These were everything I wanted them to be, snug around the ankle, with plenty of room inside for my toes to spread out, and a tough-enough sole that climbing on rocks with a heavy pack doesn't wear out my feet. Surprisingly light. I had to remove the included insole (I always do with Xero shoes, the designers must have the flattest toes ever), but they're comfortable with my thick hiking socks. And they retained their grip even with when the rubber is wet, unlike my old Xero Terraflex shoes.
