One of the best boots I have ever had, recommend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these more than two years ago at Fred Meyer. They are still in excellent condition. They look a little dustier than the pictures of the new boot, but nothing about them is coming undone or broken. They are a bit wrinkled in the ankles, as happens when you wear boots for a while. I have worn multiple sets of insoles with them, including wearing two sets simultaneously for one winter. Even with the insoles and thick socks, I have enough room. My feet are wide, but these are not labeled as wide and they fit my feet very nicely. I currently wear them with a high arch insole. If you are looking for a very well-made, sturdy, long-lasting, warm, waterproof boot, this is a great boot and I doubt you will be disappointed. The tread is good, and the outsole is very wide and functional. It’s a good design, as it is meant to keep you from rolling your ankle or slipping and falling. I haven’t noticed any major wear on the tread. What I don’t like about these boots: They are big and chunky, which is normally fine, but not so much when you want to wear skinny jeans or something. They are laces-only. Newer boots often have zippers now. They don’t offer much ankle support (on me). For a normal person, that’s probably fine, but for people with connective tissue disorders, it could be a problem. I also have toothpick calves, so maybe that is a contributing factor. Sometimes my feet get way too hot. But they are for winter, so maybe I shouldn’t be using them during the Seasons of Mud (what you might call spring and fall). The price was kind of high, but pretty reasonable for what you’re getting. I grew up on $20 pairs of boots from big box stores, so these feel almost like a luxury item. The boot strings like to come undone. They could be longer, too, for double knotting, or for wider ankles. They are only mid-calf high. You can’t step into deep snow without it getting inside your boots. The Pros: Warm, very warm. Well constructed Durable Wide enough when most footwear isn’t. Good tread and great design Made of quality materials Waterproof This review comes from someone who has lived in Alaska for a total of 15+ years. All use of these boots has been within the state.

These shoes are not durable -

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would not recommend buying these boots to anyone. The real issues is not how the boot feels today but how it lasts. We live in Sacramento which is not a snow place - but typically go out once a year to nearby places when it snows at low elevations. So bought this shoe 5years ago - used only once a year - so figure 5 uses and the plastic is self-integrating on both shoes. Columbia should be ashamed of pushing this garbage onto the consumers. I have never had any shoes start dis-integrating on me ever in my life like this.

Does not hold up over time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second pair of Bugaboots. I only wear them 2-3 times per winter. Unfortunately, the top of the right shoe is coming unglued from the rubber bottom and the rubber sole is separating at the toe. Normally these boots are great in deep snow but with this 12 inch snow storm, my foot did not stay warm and dry due to the defective boot. I see other customers have had the same problems!oes not hold up over time

Ten years and they fell apart.

Lightly used for ten years and stored in a tote with other boots that are much older. They just cracked all around. Would have thought that the should last longer.

Avid Hiker LOVES These Boots!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely LOVE these hiking boots! I've always worn Columbia brand hiking boots, but these are by far my favorite for winter. They aren't too girly, they are warm, and the tread is so thick, you just feel more stable hiking in ice or snow. I will buy these over and over again!!

Exactly what I needed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently needed to replace an old pair of Columbia boots that served me well for 6 years. I'm hard on my winter boots - I have horses at home and I work at a nearby horse farm. I need a warm, .sturdy, protective boot with excellent traction. Little details like laces that stay tied, and the lack of "quick lace" hooks ( hay nets get caught on them! ) make these perfect for my needs. They are comfortable, warm and the traction is very good. Ice cleats fit over them just fine for when I need them, but it's rare.

Still the same after 15 years

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had to replace my old ones and hat were probably about 15 years old. They spring a hole and fell apart. I was nervous to get new ones as sometimes they just aren’t the same. These feel like they are taller which is great because we get a lot of snow. They keep my ankle stable and provide good traction and they still fit the same as my old ones. My only wish is that they hey came in more colors. Hoping that these will last just as long.

Fantastic boots!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These boots are great for winter. I got a pair about 14 years ago and wore them a few times each winter until they finally dry rotted so I bought another pair. They are warm and waterproof. They are fairly stiff but eventually break in. The insulation is soft and comfortable. I generally wear a 10 or 10.5 but orders these in 11W so I could wear a wool sock but they were comfortable with normal socks.

Incredibly safe on ice and snow

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second pair I’ve bought. Great ankle support, wonderful traction on winter surfaces. Broad soles give more stability on uneven ice. The shoe laces are a good length, and cannot fall out of the top lacing hook, which is clever design. They keep my feet warm in -20 below when paired with wool socks. I recommend to anyone.

All around perfect outdoor sport and work boot

Great winter boot for cold, snowy weather and a variety of outdoor activities: snow shoeing, hiking in deep snow, sledding, shoveling, and dog walking. Provides warmth and keeps socks and feet dry in wet situations too. Fit wide feet without being too snug. Recommended to friends and family alike.
