I purchased 2 pair of these, and they have been extremely durable for more than 10 years. My oldest pair (now about 12 years old) had the sole come off, but go figure after the heavy use I've put them through. So now I've retired one of the pairs and due to the old age of the boots will probably not rely on the second pair except for day hiking, and with a light backup should they fail too. The leather uppers are in great shape even though I have not maintained them with mink oil or anything else. The boots have remained waterproof. They are heavy, but that has advantages for their toughness and amazing support for a large guy who carries a heavy pack, together totaling around 310 to 320 pounds.
I’ve had two pairs of these since 2016, they’re super comfortable, and still work in a pair in summer. They’re rugged, waterproof and very supportive. I do use mink oil on them for extra protection.
In 2016 I purchased a pair of these boots and was very happy with them until the soles separated from the boots. For a while they were not available and hopefully during that hiatus Asolo addressed the problem and the soles are attached better now. If so I believe they could be one of the best boots out there.
