Got a pair of these after seeing positive reviews online. Fit great right out of the box and didn’t seem to require breaking in, but I got them about a month before a big trip to Iceland so they got worn on a few local hikes/walks just to be sure. In Iceland, the hiking boots were comfortable in the airport, driving, walking the trails, rocky beaches, rain or shine. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase.
The boots were very comfortable & completely waterproof. My suggestion to any shopper would be to verify you’re getting the waterproof version because there are two, one that’s waterproof and one that’s not. I’ve seen several reviews that they were not waterproof, but I believe the ordering system could be improved and customer satisfaction heightened if Merrell enhanced and clarified the difference between the two because it looks like you’re just getting a sale item when really you’re getting a boot that’s not waterproof if the cost is reduced. And it doesn’t specify unless you specifically ask the chat line so do your homework before you order them. But, that being said, very comfortable, perfectly wide enough for my husband’s wide foot, rugged AND waterproof! They were great hiking in Alaska & Canada during the rainy season. Thank you for a great product!
Good stable hiking footwear. Solid base and good ankle support. Super comfortable with good wool socks. Hiked several moderately challenging trails in and around Big Bend National Park. Everything from desert to rocky to somewhat mountainous terrain. Performed well climbing moderate mountain rocky ascents as well and climbing back down. Trekking on rocky trails was very stable as well. Stayed dry along the banks of the Rio Grand while soaking my headgear for temperature control. This is my second pair.
Bought these for my trip to the mountains. Couldn't ask for better performance. Kept my feet dry while stomping thru creeks, and kayaking. They stuck to the ground as i navigated rocks, cliffs, and forested trails. They were comfortable while i was riding horses, and stylish enough for a night on the town. Couldn't be happier.
Thank you for sharing your great review!
These are everyday boots for me. Good support and comfort.
We love happy feet!
Pls DO NOT buy these boots. I used them for exactly 7 days and chunks of the sole started falling apart. This is not what I would have expected from a Vibram soled boot. The waterproofing on the boots worked well, but the super-accelerated wear on the soles was very disappointing. REI was very gracious in accepting the return without any fuss. Not recommended.
I bought the Gore-tex version of these last summer and finally had an opportunity to use them on a day hike (just a little over 12km round trip). The boots are super comfortable and require no break in time. The majority of the hike was through knee high snow and a few water crossings. They had great traction, were supportive and completely waterproof. I highly recommend these boots.

Traveled around Australia's outback. These hiking boots (Moab 3 Waterproof) stood up to rugged terrain both dry and wet. Stayed comfortable the entire time. Gave me the ankle support I needed.
Thank you for your rating!
Great boot for a wide forefoot. Doesn’t pinch my neuromas. Used them in Vermont and Adirondacks. Kept my feet dry without being hot and sweaty. Excellent traction.
The most comfortable boots i own, excellent traction on the trails and rocks. I would recommend these.
