Not Pocket Packable

I’m a girl, but I tend to get men’s jackets because the sleeves are longer. I’m a medium in women’s and got a large in men. This fit me oversized, exactly how I wanted. Loved the color, can’t speak on the performance. I hate giving a bad review, but the main reason I got this one, was because it said it was packable into its own pocket. It’s not. Looked online to see if maybe I was doing it wrong, but all the reviews said it would say packable in the pocket and the zipper would be double sided. Annoyed because I have to return this now and look search for an alternative again.

Quality rain jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Out of all the rain jackets I’ve owned this Hikebound II feels like the most durable quality. It blocks the wind and rain. It feels great to wear. The pockets are a breathable mesh. The mesh lining inside creates a nice air barrier. The color is exactly what I expected. The medium size fits perfectly and with enough room to layer. The hood fits great as well. I like this rain jacket so much I ordered the insulated version too.

Hikebound 2 makes me want to get outside .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received my Hikebound 2 jacket . The hood could use different closures . Like the push button ones found on other items . The hood could also use the velcro adjustment feature . Everything else is perfect . The velcro closures on the sle are great . The pockets all zip . The lining is comfortable . The two tone color is nice . I haven't had a chance to test waterfroofing , durability , insulation or breathability . My experience with Columbia assures me that these systems work super efficiently . The fit is great . I have shorter than normal length arms but the velcro closures manage that well ..

Doesn't travel well

Bulky fabric and netted lining restricts range of motion. Hood doesn't fold into collar. Doesn't fold well for packing.

Great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you’re in need of a dependable raincoat that strikes a great balance between waterproof protection and breathability. It’s durable, lightweight, and comfortable, making it suitable for a wide range of outdoor activities. Highly recommended for those looking for practical rain protection.

Decent jacket, but strong chemical smell

I really like the style and construction of this jacket, BUT is has a serious issue, which is that it is chemically off-gassing so strongly that it is currently unusable for me. The one time that I wore it for a short walk in the rain, my clothes smelled until I washed them, It is so strong that I had to quickly move it out of the house. Even more than a month later, as soon as I enter my garage, the odor dominants the entire space. Really disappointed that Columbia and REI sell such a toxic product, and shocked that none of the other reviews mentioned this.
