I purchased this for an early April visit to Iceland, and it was perfect! It kept me warm and dry, and the inner jacket was extremely warm for use w/o the outer coat. In fact, the inner jacket was the warmest of any typical insulated jackets of the same type I've had. Having two jackets in one made a big difference, in that I could pack away the outer coat while traveling and walking around towns. I certainly needed the outercoat in many circumstances, too. I really appreciated the absolute waterproofing of the coat, as I experienced heavy rainfall and waterfall drenching at times. I'm 100% pleased with this purchase.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It fits great!! It’s super comfortable and warm, and the water doesn’t seep through!! Perfect for snow activities.
Very dissapointed in quality. I love this jacket, but all the apliques are falling off after only a month of wearing it. I reached out to Columbia and they said to return it to REI.
waterproof and warm with a zipped internal down coat. Perfect for the rain/sleet/snow conditions in the northeast. Note: Runs small-I'm usually a medium (5'4, 140 lbs but ordered a large fits perfectly
runs very small. i will return and try a large. I have never worn a large generally.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The jacket is excellent. I’ve been buying Columbia jackets for a while and they are always consistent. They keep me very warm and toasty and fit very well. They aren’t super flashy but they aren’t plain; it’s a perfect style that is not overly trendy and won’t look out of style after a few years time. Also, the value for the cost is exceptional. This jacket has a lot of features and looks great on me. I will say that the sizing took me 3 returns to get right. The size guide is a bit wonky ie thee is an XL and a 1X and a XXL so it was tough to get the right jacket size. It was a lot of ordering, trying on and then exchanges.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this coat after my old 3 in 1 with a fleece liner had zipper issues that couldn’t be repaired. Columbia warranties the old coat with no issues and I was able to get this one as a replacement. I am so happy I did as I love this version even more than the style with the fleece. I feel like this one is warmer and more Wind resistant than the fleece version. Plus the puffy inner coat looks much nicer by itself than the fleece did. Also I love the Omni heat on the inner layer. Highly recommend! I am 5ft 5in and about 165 and the large fit perfectly with enough room for bulky sweaters/sweatshirts underneath.
Loved it. Really amazing jacket.. functions as two jackets in one. It is made for mountaineering one..
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Whirlybird is perfect. The fabrics are top end with detailed stitching and velcro wrist closures. Every pocket is zippered with handy inside and outside zipped chest pockets. It has underarm zipped vents and an interior skirt to keep out the snow and cold. The quilted lining can be worn alone or with the jacket and the blue color looks great. I can't imagine what other feature could possible be added, it has everything1
Used this jacket for skiing in Colorado. Perfectly warm and keep me dry. Would highly recommend this jacket. Did size up and it fit just right
