Love this rain jacket, provides complete waterproof protection with some warm within. I really like the longer sleeve length and it’s a great color with a punch of brightness with its inside color. Cinching around the hood is nice so it can keep you covered and isn’t floppy. Perfect for those rainy and misty Seattle days…and months. The slim fit was nice and feminine but super functional. Because of the gortex it was a thicker rain jacket, good quality and not just a thin shell. Not uncomfortable or stiff.
Nice fit, but calling this jacket insulated is misleading. it's lined, but that's about it. Unless running or hiking uphill, you'll need to layer under this in any temperature under 45 degrees. If you already have a waterproof shell, you won't need this jacket. On the plus side, this fabric isn't as noisy as my Arc'teryx 3-layer Beta AR jacket.
Bought this as a more robust, slightly longer rain jacket for an Iceland trip and it did not disappoint. Perfectly dry as well as comfortable. Fitted but with room for several layers. Well made and zippers were trouble free.
Not insulated for any cooler weather, below about 50 degrees. Also very noisy. Sleeves are very long for shorter people. Other than that it's a nice jacket. A double zipper would be a nice addition for greater ease of movement for riding or hiking. .
I bought this rain jacket for a wilderness backpacking expedition in Patagonia, and it kept me dry and warm through 8 days of unpredictable weather. It's a shell, so you'll need insulating layers in colder weather (puffy or a fleece), but it does the job of keeping you dry and protecting against strong winds, even in sideways rain. Every component of this jacket is thoughtfully designed - the hood, zippers, venting, length, cuffs. I'll use this for years, if not decades!
I am excited to have a new GORE-TEX jacket. I have two lighter ones, but this one has a liner, making it more versatile and weather stable. Outdoor Research got the fit and function right on this one. No, it is not suitable as a winter jacket on its own, but it will for sure keep your other layers dry.
The OR Women's Grandridge Gore-Tex is a great jacket. It's waterproof, and warmer than other Gore-Tex jackets I've had. It fits nicely, and the color was just as shown on ad. I took the jacket to Patagonia, and it performed perfectly.
An over priced raincoat. Waste of money if you’re looking for quality gear.
