Extremely thin, poor quality
I have a 3-1 jacket for myself so I decided to get one for my son and I'm baffled. This is supposed to be a 3-in-1 jacket but the inner jacket that zips in is so incredibly thin. I don't see how it will keep him warm alone let alone the whole thing. The cuffs at the end are also very large to the point I can't velcro them down and the elasticity of the inner cuffs is non-existent. I don't think I've ever been disappointed by a Columbia product before so this is a first. I would not recommend this product.
Reliable and durable

I’m not sure why they discontinue colors or models, but the value is good enough for me to to keep buying it as long as the prints aren’t too ugly. This print isn’t my favorite.

Columbia Boy's Whirlibird III 3-in-1 jacket
Looks to be a great product. Bought this for my 13 year old grandson. His dad has one and raves about it. It’s flexible and has the appeal boys like. Good science behind the insulation design.
