My all time favorite bottle
I have no idea what these ppl are talking about with their complaints of not being able to actuate the valve or disassemble it for cleaning. Seriously. I'm only writing this review because I was irritated by how bad some ppl made it sound when it really is the best bottle I've ever used and it took me about 30 seconds to figure out how to take it apart.
Valve too stiff to turn, taking apart is terrible.
The form factor is better than the older Podium bottle. However the new rotating valve is way too hard to take apart and reinstall. The valve is also too hard to turn. With some plastic trimming and dremeling, the parts almost work as they should have when I bought them. This was either designed by recent grads with no concept of interference fits, o-ring groove experience, and no plastic design principles or their Chinese supplier "designed" it for them.
I like it!!! The dirt cap is everything
Who would have thought? Especially only riding in New York City. But, I have to say, when I do reach down to grab, the dirt cap has dirt on it. Hmm, than means without the cap, I would have been sucking on dirt. I like it. It gives me a reason to find the trail in Central Park. It is not just about the loop ya know.
Great idea, but the cap broke after 5 rides
Great concept as my mountain bike only has a place for one bottle in the triangle, but can mount another outside. That bottle picks up dirt so thought this was perfect solution. Used it 5 times and on 5th ride I looked down and notice the cap cover was gone. Thus, it couldn't withstand 5 mountain bike rides.
Excellent New Design
After a suggestion from my LBS I used these for the first time on LandRun100 Gravel Race and it was so great to actually drink water without having to taste the dirt. I have used them for several rides where it was extremely muddy and it works fabulously. Thank you for making this.
Over engineered
Overly complex, leaves a full swallow of liquid in the bottle. That can only be obtained by removing the lid. Lid leaks when squeezed rapidly. Lost the dust cover on 1 bottle. And after 100 miles of riding I still haven't found a use for the locking mechanism.
Loving the new design
The new bottles are far superior to the older versions, the tops feel much sturdier and rugged. It can be a little difficult to twist the valve open but I would assume this will break in. I am going to replace all my bottles with the new ones.
Loose fit in bike water bottle cage
This new model of this bike bottle does not have the diameter required to fit securely in an universal water bottle cage as its predecessor model. As a consequence, you can easily loose it on a bike ride and it also creates a rattle noise.
Best MTB Water bottle
Best water bottle for MTB, keeps the dirt off the mouthpiece, water flows well, easy to use with one hand, and even has a locking mechanism for travel to the trail. Perfect!
Keeps me from eating dirt, literally
While the cap is a bit fiddly, it does it's job of keeping mud and worse out from the nozzle. Also, the uninsulated bottles fit better in compact FS frames like my top fuel.
