Columbia  Hikebound Long Insulated Jacket - Girls'

The jacket I received was labeled as an insulated rain jacket, what it actually was is a shell/trench coat which works just fine here in Northern California for a 0.3 mile school commute in the rain. The actual jacket’s sewn-in Columbia label gives style 2126051, and that style is the Hikebound Long Rain Jacket. I purchased this on clearance during the Labor Day sale and found the price to be right, so I’m not going to return it. But I am letting REI know to double check your labeling and product marketing. Don’t market an insulated jacket without checking if it’s insulated. I can’t imagine a poor child being placed in this jacket during the winters in Chicago or Montana, they’d surely freeze.

Love the length of this warm winter jacket. Ultimately, the style didn’t work for us because the waist elastic was too fitted, despite our kiddo being very lean, and the sleeve didn’t have a Velcro cinching strap to keep the cold/snow out (every other kids’ winter jacket I have come across has this essential feature).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter is 120cm tall and weighs 55lbs. She wears size M and the sleeves are a bit long. I hope she can still wear it next year. Here is a suggestion for everyone.

I will definitely buy this again if need be my child loves it and she says it keeps her very warm without her having to put on a sweater underneath it
