Cusioned in forefoot yet nimble as not his stack but just enough cushion, can go fast, slow, and unlike many shoes today, can grip not just on wet pavement nad gavel, but slippery leaves on sidewalks, twigs, debris, etc., so good for a run in the city in most weather. Many other shoes require you to tip-toe through falls leaves nad rain lest you slide. These are quasi-trail so are reliable, and can turn well. Roomy and pleasant, jack of all trades for your average 10K run around. Handles hills well, and downhill.
I believe I’ll love these, my current Outroads are terrific; not excellent on trail like Lone Peaks, but pretty good as hybrids. My runs often take me on mixed terrain. however, they came in a box that says this is a replacement box because the original was damaged. Maybe, but these shoes have been worn! I feel I should have paid the garage sale price…
After Altra changed the Timp (I loved the 3), I couldn't find a shoe that worked for me for a very long time. until the out road! I have run in the 2s and now the 3s. I've run trail ultramarathons (50ks to 75 miles) and road marathons in these bad boys. No complaints. 10 out of 10. Best shoe for a trail runner who can sometimes be a roadrunner. I do mostly wear these on trails and if I had one wish, it would be that there was a way to connect the Altra gaiters. But it's something I can live without for having everything else so right.
These fit well, just what I am looking for. Responsive and lightweight. However, why do trail shoes come in such a light color?
The only shoes that have ever been comfortable to me right out of the box are Birkenstocks...until today. Great shoes! Arch support where I need it. Roomy in the toe box.
Very comfy shoes. I am traveling with them through SE asia and love them, light weight and super comfy
I felt just right and comfortable.. Perfect for both road and light trail..
