I've had this head light for about a month. I usually lean towards the TPH25R and the XPH30R because of how sleek they are, and magnetic on one end to be able to stick them to what I'm working on. But this new one is very well balanced on my head unlike the XPH30R. The blue and green lights are ok, it's definitely bright enough and the dimmer dial comes in very handy and is capable of dimming all the different lights. In tight situations being able to put it on one handed also helps, my I favorite part is it doesn't feel like I have a big rock strapped to the front of my head and the rechargeable battery last forever. I can use it hours at a time, mutiple nights a week and go a couple weeks before needing to charge it.
This is a great light for almost any activity. It is perfect for bike riding and hiking. The rear light keeps you visible front and back on the road and battery pack and recharging feature last quite a while. The area light is great for working on projects that require hands free operation and the green light feature is great for low light situations that will not disturb others. I enjoy the dimmer feature and black light which is great for detection of scorpions and other luminescent creatures. I was pleased with this light right out the box and will continue to be a happy coast customer.
The RL30R is a very versatile head lamp. It will definitely light your path up or whatever you’re working on. It has 3 or 4 different colors to help you see in different light settings. It even has a dial on the back of the headlamp itself that with dim or brighten whatever light you’re using. My favorite thing about this headlamp is the battery life!!! This sucker last for HOURS!! Even on its brightest light setting. So don’t hesitate, get it while it’s in stock cause I can guarantee they will go fast.
I really like the RL30R headlamp! The soft white light is handy for area light up close but for working on a project, the wide beam was required to provide enough light where I needed it. I haven’t used the spotlight beam really, or even the combined wide beam and spotlight, but feel when I’m outdoors that longer distance beam will be perfect. I am excited for this fall to see if the soft red beam is bright enough for walking in the woods at night. The rear view light could be handy for biking, running or walking along the road, but Im hoping I don’t need that! With the rechargeable battery, I can easily recharge it, or swap it out quickly w a charged up spare, but from my experience w the rechargeable battery in my other flashlight, it will be quite some time between recharges.
Works great on trail and around camp when you only have propane lighting because the powerlines end 4 min before camp. The dimming feature is great for quick adjustment. Probably the best headlamp ive bought.
This is very versatile, bright headlamp that works perfectly! The different functionality is a must for multiple uses (biking, working in dark places, hiking in forest at night, etc). Only drawback is I have had several headlamps over the years, I wear 7 3/4 hats...this band is tight (compared to many other competitors over the years). If you have a larger dome, I would recommend trying it on to see if you are willing to have it this tight at its loosest settings.
I'm a fitter by trade and we get on the site at 5 am, Usually before anyone else. Some supers make us wear hi vis vest but usually not most sites. So it's nice to know that I can turn the rear red light on early and still be able to use my headlamp all day long and not have to worry about seeing or being seen! This thing will work for days! One of the most essential tools I have in my box!
I could not wait to get a new headlamp for night walking my dogs. Unfortunately, I was not happy with the purchase. This lamp is quite bulky, having the battery attached to it that sits on the back of the head. The light it shines is also not as strong as I had expected.
I love the dimmable feature that is buttonless and you do not have to hit the switch several times to get the level of light needed, I also love that it includes the cord for the type-c lighting charger and extension so you can move the battery pack for convenience.
I bought this a few weeks ago and I'm so happy I did. Now I can use my hands and they don't have to be holding a flash light. I love the blue green lights and especially the dimmer switch. The battery stays charged all night. Really really good product
