soaks through immediately

really expensive jacket that other than how great it looks, has let me down in every way. I took my brand new jacket backpacking for 3 days and the first day it rained a lot. Immediately it soaked through and left my down jacket underneath completely soaking. It stayed wet for the following 2 days which was disappointing. I thought id give it the benefit of the doubt in case it had been sitting and needed a waterproofing treatment. I did a full techwash treatment on it, and the next time it rained, it lasted a bit better, but also completely soaked through. I've had the jacket for about 6 months now and I have never gotten through a rainy day dry with this jacket. Super sad.

Nice jacket, but too bulky

Very nice rain jacket, but just too big/heavy for what I was looking for. Definitely waterproof and seems very durable, but very long and boxy, especially for a petite person (I’m 5’0”, 95 lbs and ordered an XS). I also do not like the hood adjustments since they are on the interior. I ended up going with the (much more expensive) Arc’teryx Alpha because there literally is no other brand that makes a rain jacket for someone my size.

You Need This Coat!

Great fit, perfect tech, and awesome color. Dual zipper is a must and they are always a bit fussy so just be aware of that.

Increased Cost but Lower Quality

I have worn Mountain Hardware rain gear for over a decade and I find that each time I buy a new jacket to replace the old the quality is inferior. For example on this Trailverse Gore-Tex the tabs on all the zippers are just elastics with a burnt? edge to stop fraying and these ends are on the sharper side and snag. The older jackets had a soft almost leather like tab on all the zippers. Also the zippers are not as smooth as before.

Perfect 3L GT jacket!

I've been looking for a 3L Gore-Tex jacket that's reasonably priced for years. This jacket is awesome! I bought both the M & L (bigger for layering). I've taken it all the way to the Cook Islands & it has performed wonderfully. It's an excellent back country and around town rain jacket. I live in North Texas where we get tropical thunderstorms and downpours regularly. This jacket will get a lot of use both traveling and at home.

Beautiful color & functional rain jacket

This is a fantastic rain jacket that ensures staying nice and dry, even in torrential downpour! The hood is generous and love that it’s adjustable. My favorite rain jacket - a really nice change from the black jackets that I always gravitate to! *the zipper is sometimes a little tricky, but I think it’s because of how it’s sealed for waterproofing & unavoidable.

Just what I was looking for.

5’8 busty with long arms and torso. Usually hard to find jackets that fit the length they typically have to buy tall, This jacket fits great. Can cinch the waist for more sporty fit or if I loosen it the jacket can still cover my bum a bit. Very pleased - have not tested it in rain yet that’s why I didn’t give 5stars.

Returned this jacket

I was hopeful that this would be a great rain jacket for me, as my previous gortex jacket is worn-out. But I returned it. I ordered the Trailverse in a medium and it fit quite well, a little more straight/generous fit, which I really prefer over a 'womens' cut. The material and colour were really nice. I didn't like the pit-zip placement, the vent is more on the sidebody than armpit and the vent zipper is one-way only, so you can't adjust the vent placement or open/close in both directions, which I've really appreciated on other jackets. The hood collar was a bit weird on me which made the hood a bit wierd too. My head is small so that might be more of a 'me thing' than a 'this jacket thing'. Finally, the front zipper was quite sticky, I think because of the way it is waterproofed; I felt like I might break it. All in all, I didn't think this jacket was worth what it cost, when there are so many other jackets on the market, with the features I like. I do like that the fit wasn't "woman shaped" because it actually fit me (a woman) well.

Lacking funtionality

Nice jacket just lacks functionality. Inside pocket is useless, too small to hold much more than a chapstick. No windflap on zippers. Too bad, I am trying to replace an earlier version of this Jacket that I love.

Great!

Comfortable, waterproof, well made. I like the extra room around the waist / hips for layering
