Sports bra, not "compression top"
I purchased this thinking that a "compression top" was something along the lines of a chest binder, but in actuality it's just a fancy sports bra, with nothing actually compressing or binding. If the website had images of models wearing the top in their official photos, I could have known this before buying, but all the images are of the top flat, not showing how it would look on a person's body.
bad zipper
My mom bought this for me about 3 months ago, I have since stopped wearing. While it did provide some compression, it wasn't much. The zipper was extremely bumpy and always bubbles up and out, either causing you to have an extremely bumpy chest or making your chest look bigger. I ended up having to cut out the clasp that holds it together to get it a little less bumpy
Supportive athletic swim top for larger bust
There's plenty to like about this swim top - front zip, it's not low cut, and the website's sizing chart was fairly accurate. After trying it on, I found that that the armpit area is cut a little low to the bust for my preference. No doubt it's one of those things that doesn't translate well when you take a smaller pattern piece an size it up - sort of like thinking that someone in a size XXL t-shirt might somehow also need a neck hole that's larger (but more than likely they have the same sized neck), if that makes sense. But Generally, I'm looking forward to wearing this swim top for plenty of cannon-balls into the pool.
Inconsistent sizing, but otherwise fantastic
I bought this style of swim top several years ago (in the classic TomboyX black with rainbow band), but the new one runs much larger. Back then, I ordered a L and XL (and still have them both). The L is too tight and the XL is just right. I loved this new design so ordered a new swim top for an upcoming beachy vacation. I ordered XL since that's the size I have of the one that fits me now. The XL in this new top is way too big, gaping at the armpit and too loose around the ribcage. So I ordered an L, which is just a bit snug but will hopefully loosen up with some wear. Apart from the inconsistent sizing, I love this top! It's fashionable, modest, and keeps everything nice and secure!
Good fit, cheap zipper
The zipper is cheap, I guarantee it'll break before end of summer. I wear a 34H and the L fit me well. I wish the sides were a bit higher to compress better, but that wasn't a deal breaker.
Great Swim Top
This is a great top for swimming. Though I have a bigger bust, so at the top it doesn’t sit flat on, and if i dive into a pool the zipper does come undone, so I do wish it had adjustable straps so i could tighten it up to hopefully prevent that, currently got it worked out with a safety pin, was going to sew it but haven’t made it that far yet. Otherwise an over all great product, my issues might have been able to be prevented by getting 1 size smaller but not sure.
Love the design, good coverage
Really liked the appearance of this swim top, and it has good coverage. I came up between sizes, and went for the XL for a looser feel, which turned out to be a bit gap-y around the armpits. The zip is tricky to do up while wearing, so I just leave it zipped and pull it on, which works well as the fabirc is nice and light-weight. The catch mentioned is just a small ‘bra hook’ inside the zip. Loved this paired with the high-waisted black novelty swim shorts!
No longer great quality
I buy 1 to 2 of these every season and they always have a clip on the inside as extra protection from opening all the way and to make zipping it up easier. This product no longer has the inside clip and I’m so disappointed. I don’t feel confident wearing this top out in public anymore and trying to zip it up took me several tries and was frustrating.
Super disappointed!
I love everything I’ve gotten from TomboyX, but this top just does not meet the same standard. The fabric is really thin, and doesn’t support or compress me (I’m only a ~30D). It’s really hard for me to zip up once it’s on my body. It’s a really cute style, but it doesn’t have enough structure for me to feel comfortable wearing it.
Fine color
I bought this at the beginning of the summer and was immediately disappointed. The reviews said to size up but it was way too big. But even if I had got the right size, I don’t think it would have made much difference. There was no compression, no support, and no shaping. I felt like a sack. Do not recommend.
