Hearty Meal
Consuming a rehydrated meal is usually not much of a big deal for me as most of them are usually heavily loaded with rice or pasta and a bit of meat. I was pleasantly surprised at how much chicken there was, and the mashed potatoes were a perfect combination. I haven’t enjoyed a rehydrated meal like this in a long time. It was a perfect ending to a day spent paddling and setting up camp.

Liked, not loved
The mashed potatoes are yummy, filling and seasoned well. Too much spongy chicken IMO. Eventually got grossed out by the chicken but would have loved more potato. It’s like 50/50 each.

Comforting and high protein meal

Want a very filling and high protein dinner that's comforting and has high protein? This your meal! I brought a thermos with hot water and heated my chicken and mashed potatoes after hiking a Colorado 14er. It was so satisfying and kept me full for the rest of the hike.

Chix breast with Rib meat & mashed

Chicken was a whole piece of grilled meat-wow, good texture & taste. Potatoes were salty, but tasted good even a little cheesy? I would buy again, there were two portions . We bought in 2012 & ate 2022 - with food “expired” 2018. Very good taste and chicken breast texture , nice grill marks too.

My favorite meal

Honestly, probably the best dehydrated meal I've tried thus far. Rehydrates relatively quick, the chicken rehydrates nicely, and even the seasoning is nice. I just wish the portion size was more... But that is with almost every backpacking meal.

Left wanting more!

Decided to have lunch on the trail this weekend and took the Chicken and Mashed Potatoes with me. Wow, was I surprised! I was scraping the bottom of the pouch wishing there was more. Great portion size, but tasted fantastic! Sorry to see the limited release sold out. :(

Great taste just need a veggie or two

Taste great and is super hardy, great with hot sauce but it could definitely use some peas, corn, or carrots just for variety. Definitely one of my go to favorites!

Weird So Many Like This

Out of all the Mountain House meals I’ve tried, and I’ve tried most of them, this is one of my least favorite. Mountain House usually impresses me, so I was excited to try this after reading all the glowing reviews. Sorry, but unless you’re in your doomsday bunker, feeling especially nostalgic about Thanksgiving, this meal doesn’t hit the mark. It feels more like a side than a main dish, and it doesn’t take long before it feels like a chore to finish.

Good food = good backpacking

I had this during my backpacking trip in GC, loved it, perfect easy good meal seating on rocks after a whole day of walk. Generally for dehydrated food, taste is the concern, this one satisfied my buds.

Great flavor and perfect for energy. Very tasty!

I have to admit, I was skeptical on this one, but this was really good!
