excellent spoon

Very nice spoon. At 8 1/4" long, it's long enough to eat a freeze-dried meal from the bag without getting your fingers messy. This is the same length as the Sea to Summit Alpha Light spoon; the MSR spoon is slightly heavier but has a bigger bowl, is finished more smoothly, and is much stronger. In contrast to the Sea to Summit spoon, the hole on the end of the MSR spoon is big enough to accommodate many carabiners. (Those with I-beam sections, such as Petzl Attache, work fine. My round stock carabiners don't fit. Petzl Ange L fits, but other wire gates might not, depending on the size of the nose.) So far I've only used the concave side of the spoon for eating. The back (convex) side doesn't seem to serve any purpose. Too bad they can't get rid of that side and save some weight...

Best backpacking utensil ever.

I love this spoon. Super lightweight and durable, and the perfect length for freeze-dried bag meals. It might be dumb to love a utensil, but backpackers know that it's the little things that make or break trips, and having gear that's perfectly dialed is so satisfying. Get one!

Works on backpack trips

This spoon is long enough to stir and serve reconstituted meals in zipper bags without getting fingers messy. It is almost as light as a plastic spork but longer and stronger. I find it more convenient for stirring boiling water into meals and beverages.

If it’s shaped like a spoon, and it looks like a spoon, then sure, it will spoon food. But the bowl is an odd shape. Also, anything made out of titanium and meant to be an eating utensil has to be polished. Hard stop there.

Lightweight quality

Everything I would expect from MSR quality lightweight strong utensil and long enough to get to the bottom of some freeze dried food pouches. Hole for carabiner if you choose to use one with it.

Good design!

I bought 2pcs of Titan Long Spoon for the Titan Kettle 1400mL and 900mL, it's good matching. Just missing a long fork to make it a perfect set. Hope MSR will consider to make it.

Keeps your hands clean

The spoon is a good shape and length. Totally avoids the fingers getting covered in food or burnt. Very strong also, no worries on bending in my bag.

Nice Spoon

Spoon works great for boil in a bag as well as non bag meals! Nicer than the aluminum spoons I have tried.
