A sun hoodie that doesn't look dirty immediately!

I love that someone finally made a sun hoodie with enough texture to hide the inevitable stains and dirt. It's light, comfortable, durable and I've essentially stopped wearing short sleeves since I hate sunscreen.

Suffocating and non breathable

I have at least 2 dozens or so of non printed echo hoodies and t-shirts. It's my ever favorite hiking shirt since I discovered it in 2016, so I decided to buy the printed one hoping it would feel the same with the non-printed! The first time I wore it was at the sierra nevada in California. I got so hot because the material doesn't breath well. The material feels plasticky. I love the color so much and I paid full price for it so I tried hard to really like it. I wore it again on my Camino in Spain last Oct 2023. Temp low 60's and raining. I felt suffocated so I never wore it again the rest of the Camino. This past Feb 2024 I tried it one more time, wore it at Steep Ravine in California cost, temp 50's, windy, I felt like I was wearing a trash bag. My body heat felt trapped inside the shirt and felt sticky from sweating a lot. If the temp is cold the sweater/jacket I wear all the time to layer is my appalacian gear alpaca hoodie and mountain gear ghost whisperer. Those hoodie/jacket are breathable so that was not the problem at all. Anyway my friend still wanted the shirt inspite of my complains so I gave it to her.

Doesn’t breathe at all :/

Found the last one in stock in a store and was SO excited to try it. Fit like a dream & no weird drawstrings like mtn hardware sun hoodies I otherwise love. Was super disappointed with its performance - wore it on a 5-mile desert hike in 65 degree weather with some shade and I was SWEATING. This material doesn’t breathe at all relative to other sun hoodies I have had. Was super bummed. The sweating was untenable and I returned the item.

Great coverage and comfortable

This was a perfect 2nd layer for 9 hrs of hiking Wore this on part of the Appalachian Trail going from 5500 to 7100 ft elevation. I was kept comfortable the whole time . While other people I was with were constantly taking off and on jackets I was able to stay very comfortable in this. Also it was so lightweight and not too snug. I have a large and fit perfect. I'm 5'2 145 and larger chested for reference. Also the spf properties of the piece meant then when I stopped for lunch on a sunny outcrop I didn't have to worry about sun screen. This does have a hood which I did not utilize. But a friend saw it and I showed her the ponytail hole and she was impressed.

Keeps in too much heat.

Holds your sweat in in - in an uncomfortable way...I have a fair amt of sunshirts - imho you're better off with MHW or NRS - just my two cents. Not very moisture wicking - so had to return. Loved the pattern, so bummer it wasn't great.

The (almost) perfect Sunshirt for women

Love that the patterned print hides dirt and helps conceal “nipping out.” (Why more companies aren’t mindful of this concept isn’t serving their female customers very well…) The material is ultra light weight- perfect for backpacking and alpine climbing. I spent my entire summer outdoors climbing and backpacking, and wore this on several multi-day trips and alpine climbs to test it out. Here were my observations: * On hot days I find it breathes better when worn alone (without an undershirt) and provides great sun protection by itself. It also does pretty well when layered with a thin synthetic tank top on colder days. * I noticed the pits of the shirt start to stink like sweat after 1-2 days, but a quick wash with castille soap clears it right up. * The material is actually pretty durable (way better than I thought it would be given how thin it is). Not a single snag, run. or tear acquired yet, on multiple climbs in the Cascade mountains (with tons of lava rock exposure). I loved this shirt enough to buy a second as a backup., since I was running between back to back trips and didn’t always have time to do laundry. I just wish there were more colored/pattern options to choose from.

10/10 sun protection

This hoodie has traveled with me on several river trips and kept me from getting sunburned while surfing in Bermuda. It's light weight enough to wear in warm temperatures while still being durable to hold up to multiple outdoor pursuits. The ponytail hole is a nice touch for when I want to wear the hood to product my ears, but don't want to wear my hair down, or have a cone-head from the hood. As a full-bodied individual I love the extended sizing OR offers too, and that I can confidently recommend their products to anyone looking, regardless of size.

Echo hoodies rule the roost!

Echo hoodies are the best sun hoodies on the market that I've found over the past 10 years. They are great for high output days in the alpine and in subalpine terrain when you want to stay out of the sun. The hoody is great for climbing, as a base layer for backcountry skiing or ice climbing, and is still great for a day on the water. The hood is best worn under a helmet for best comfort but that works fine for me and is preferred. This patterned hoodie is a little stiffer than the traditional echo hoodie but it's not enough to be cumbersome.

Amazing breathable sun shirt

Couldn’t say enough great things about this sun hoodie, I recommend it constantly. Lightweight and great sun protection. I’ve tried multiple other sun shirts and this is by far the most breathable and light. Worn it at high altitudes for hiking/biking and running/soccer in the tropics and it works perfectly in all conditions. Also love that it comes in patterns instead of boring solids.

Daughter's Favorite

Bought this for my daughter during a friends and family event. She loves it.... It weighs nothing, blocks the sun well, and is incredibly breathable. She loves it for hikes in the Colorado sun. Hood fits well but definitely is meant to be a little more form fitting so plan on wearing the hood under a hat or helmet. Fits her well, although slightly tapered at the bottom so she'll likely grow out of it a little quicker. Very well made and I'm sure it will get passed down and get plenty of use!!!
