[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mammut gave me this free product to try In exchange for my honest review. This lightweight rainshell is fantastic! I have been an outdoor professional and guide for 15 years and have been hunting for the perfect lightweight rain layer. I wore this all day on a waterfall rappel as guide and was constantly misted on and in the splash zones and did not get wet at all! The velcro cuffs, keep water from going back into the sleeve, the pit zips kept me cool when the sun beat down on me. I'm 5'4, 145lbs normally, but am currently 160 and 23 weeks pregnant and this medium still fits well! So a medium offers the ability to not look too baggy, but easily can layer under which is huge. I love the vibrant color and comfort of the fabric. It doesn't have as much swooshing sounds as some rain jackets when the fabric hits itself when walking. Overall, a solid choice for a rain layer! The only thing I wish is it had a high internal breast pocket to make it a great option for climbing and phone access... but thats because I spend alot fo time in the air.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who runs frigid 100% of the time, I can confidently say this jacket gets my full approval. It’s incredibly rare for me to maintain my core body temperature on an early-morning hike, but this jacket kept me warm without ever feeling stuffy. Even when the trail got more strenuous, it stayed breathable and comfortable. The fit is spot-on, allowing full range of motion, so I never felt restricted. At the top of my hike, I pulled out my fishing rod and started casting into Red Pine, and the jacket moved with me effortlessly. Adaptable, flexible, and surprisingly warm, it handled every part of the adventure. The only add on I'd make is a chest pocket for my phone and chapstick! But overall, I’m absolutely stoked to have this piece in my lineup!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Mammut DRY Tour fabric works!! This jacket has kept me dry and warm this fall in wind, rain and snow. It was durable while climbing and on approach hikes. I appreciate the taped seams, the hood that fits over a helmet, the pit zips to air out when I start to get too warm, and the over roomy design. I have a larger chest and shoulders, this jacket comfortably accommodated both. This jacket is true to size, made from recycled materials, PFC-Free, and Mammut promotes fair and safe working conditions. I was given this product in exchange for a fair and honest review.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can’t say enough good things about the Mammut Alto Light HS. This jacket absolutely lived up to its promise of being lightweight and waterproof. I took it on several multi-day hiking trips, and it easily fit into my small hiking pack without adding any noticeable weight. The 2.5-layer Mammut DRY Tour laminate really does its job—completely waterproof yet still breathable, and it’s great knowing it’s made with recycled polyester and PFC-free materials. The real highlight for me was using it while climbing. Any good climber knows that every ounce matters, especially on long approaches, and this shell packed down incredibly small and tight. It offered great freedom of movement and handled changing weather like a champ. The underarm ventilation was a nice touch too—it helped regulate temperature when I started to heat up. Another unexpected win? I ended up using it on a business trip. When an unexpected storm rolled in, this jacket kept me bone dry while looking sharp enough to head straight into a meeting. Between the adjustable hood, hem, and cuffs, it seals out the elements perfectly. In short, the Alto Light is everything Mammut promises: lightweight, waterproof, compact, and versatile. Whether you’re hiking, climbing, or traveling for work, this jacket is a must-have piece of gear.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow. This jacket is awesome. I’ve taken it out for 4 days touring this season, in either dumping snow, or heavy sleet and freezing rain and was COMPLETELY dry. I’ve been looking for a solid waterproof jacket for years, and have never found one that had performed as well as this. It’s lightweight, breathable and unbelievably waterproof. Mammut has CRUSHED it with this jacket, I’m looking forward to an awesome and dry snowboarding season thanks to this jacket! Thanks mammut!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this jacket! The details are very well thought out. I especially love the pit zips and waterproof pocket seams! Additionally the bill in the hood keeps my line of sight clear while my head stays dry! I primarily used this jacket for hikes during rainy/cold weather. This jacket would be the perfect addition for beginners and experts! Super lightweight and breathable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The rain jacket was great but not perfect. I just never had the chance to actually wear it in the rain.
