lightweight and comfortable for long rides
This giro source is an upgrade from my previous helmet. I like that it is light weight but also has good padding that’s is attached via helmet sizer. Padding is more than front and back, but the whole thing. See pics. I love the movable visor, as well as the sizer. I’m 5’6 and the large fits great. I think if I went with the smaller size it would have been too small. Fits great and not too heavy or hot. Wore it on my first ride and i love the movable visor thing.
Great Helmet with Adjustable Visor!
Great all-around helmet, especially at the price. Offers all the safety features, great retention system, and adjustable visor. Wore it on a couple gravel and MTB rides and had no complaints! Was comfortable, easy to dial the fit in, and offered good ventilation. The visor doesn't have much movement, but that seems to be the norm. Felt comfortable with the padding across my scalp and there no issues with the straps.
Classic look, simple bike helmet
Nice fitting, classic look bike helmet. Easy to adjust the size. I like the matte white look over glossy finishes. Not bulky looking, but some interior padding. No fancy bells and whistles, lights or design. Don’t overthink it, it’s just a bike helmet that’s comfortable and does what it’s supposed to.
I am impressed with this helmet.
This helmet is designed as a trail ready helmet but I use it more as an all arounder. I use it for road, gravel, and cross country mountain biking. The helmet provides good coverage for the base of the skull and includes Mips technology which is a must for me. The helmet is surprisingly lightweight and has impressive ventilation. The adjustable and removable visor is well built and designed. The helmet has the perfect amount of padding so it is comfortable to wear but not too hot. There are intuitive and easy adjustments to make sure the helmet fits your head perfectly. I can't think of anything I would change, they really did a great job designing this.
Just a simple, safe feeling helmet.
Alright folks, this right here is a pretty solid helmet. Let’s go over the good and the meh: The good: I really like how it fits. The padding is comfortable, it does have a mips rating, and the dial in the back allows you to really dial it in and get a snug fit that makes it feel like it’s not going anywhere should you take a spill. I also like the classic clip on the strap; my other helmet has a magnetic fidlock and I worry it could pop off if I had a nasty crash. While it’s never happened, it’s certainly in the realm of possibility. The meh: it’s still pretty cold here with snow, so I couldn’t get on trails and really break a sweat. So to test it out, I poured a little water on the padding to see how it’d go. The front pad is nice and absorbs the water (sweat), which is good. The issue is the lack of vents right up front for ~the first inch on your forehead. Without the vents there, it’s not as great at having airflow come through and evaporate/wick the moisture out of the padding. On real hot days, I could see myself getting bugged by this, maybe developing hotspots on my forehead, and having sweat drip down to my eyes more than I’d like. For colder climates or fall/winter riding, it’s a solid choice that I’d grab. The other thing I wasn’t super keen on is the visor; typically it’s easy to take them off and throw them up under the visor when I don’t need them on. This helmet doesn’t really allow for that as you can see in the picture. I ride with a cheap pair of safety glasses, so it might be different if you’re someone that buys fancy shmancy bike glasses. Overall, it’s a solid feeling helmet that gets the job done. I enjoy the fit and the comfort of the padding in there, but the airflow/ventilation felt lacking. The fit and form just made me feel really safe when it was on. So as a helmet, I give it a solid 3.5/5. I wish it had a couple other bells and whistles for my personal preference, but those are definitely subjective.
cute and comfy helmet
I have a ton of helmets for different applications (climbing, road cycling, whitewater) and this mountain bike helmet is the most comfortable one I own. It’s easily adjustable and has the most perfect built in visor.
Fits great!
Fits like a glove. Very comfortable and great value.
