Great way to help organize my backpack!
This is a great addition to my pack. I use it to keep items that I want to be able to find easily, such as personal care items, repair items, and first aid kit. Coincidentally it’s also things that I always take into the tent at night. I like that it has a “shape” but is still flexible, and can be smooshed if necessary. I used to keep these items (and more) in the top lid, but was constantly fighting to get things in and out, just too much stuff in a small place. Now with these items in the main body, the items in the top lid are much more accessible. The fabric cleans easily, zipper is smooth. My wife has already claimed it for vacations and travel!
Well Made & Company to Trust
“I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review.” Sides are nicely padded with double quality zippers. Breathable, screen cover lid so you can ID contents. I’m not quite sure if container is crushable. I used for 1st aid & general supples for car/tent camping. Fits under Tundra seat easily. This small container will have multi uses. I could see where a few of these would be handy, especially for car camping organization. I will just cont labeling free small boxes for my organization. If you’re unlike me, & have $$, buy a bunch you won’t regret it! I give it a four out of five stars just because the expense.
Super Sturdy Little Cube for Quick Organization
The 5 liter Alpaca Gear Pod is essentially a very sturdy packing cube. I used it most recently to store small essential items on an overnight, but you could really use it for all sorts of applications. The mesh top is great for being able to quickly see everything that is in the pod and feels very durable. I particularly liked that the gear pod doesn’t collapse in the bottom of my pack, even when it is partially empty. The zippers and their pull loops also feel strong, as I used them to pull the cube out of tight spots in my pack with no issues.
Great little packing cube
We genuinely liked this Gregory Alpaca cube. While smaller than expected, it was perfect to wrangle all my kids needed to have dinner outdoors on the soccer field. It fit two Thermos kid bottles, snacks, sporks, napkins, and other small items that would otherwise get lost at the bottom of the backpack. We really liked the sturdy and padded sides that kept their shape; the mesh top was nice to see what was in it (if we had more than one, this would be an especially great feature!); and the zippers were very sturdy and I can see them lasting a long time. Once the weather warms up a bit we’ll be using this to wrangle kitchen items that again, sink to the bottom of the bin and are always what you’re looking for (like matches!).
Great for car storage!
This is a great storage option! I keep it in my car to carry my emergency supplies. It has the perfect amount of space to fit 2 bivvys, 2 emergency blankets, a compass, 2 tourniquets and my first aid kit. The mesh top makes it easy to see what’s in the bag and the bag is the perfect size to fit in a trunk or under a seat. The zippers are heavy duty and the material seems like it will hold up for quite a few years. This gear pod is great for storing smaller objects but if you have anything substantial in size, I recommend getting one of the bigger options. Overall, I highly recommend this storage bin!
Gregory Alpaca is the best camp organizer system

Found What I've Been Looking For!
I've reached a time in life (my 60's) where camping, work trips, road trips, and travel happen often. Time and efficiency is what I'm after with packing but I couldn't find a really good container for personal care products -- toothpaste, shampoo & conditioner, razor, etc. I was using a makeup bag that was too tall forcing me to dig through the contents to find the specific item I was after. I like ease and this wasn't happening. Also, I couldn't place anything on top of my personal care bag when packing because the least amount of weight on top would cause the products inside to be "squished" and some of the tubes would ooze product. Here's what I experienced with my Gear Pod: (1) I can easily pack what I need into this 5 liter pod. The depth is only 4 inches which amazingly is perfect for being able to see what is inside -- contents are not all piled on each other so you can't find anything. (2) The sides have some sort of rather hard foam built between the inner and outer fabric. This makes the case stand up and protects the content of the case when you place things on top of it. I didn't have any tubes while using it. (3) The top of the pod is a heavy screen. So you can see in and see the larger items if you want to quickly double-check if you packed everything. I've found what I've needed. This is now my go bag. I came home from camping, threw it in a drawer, then needed to do an overnight car trip for work, grabbed it out of the drawer threw it into my suitcase without worrying if something heavy pressed into it -- it can't be squished. Now that I've mentioned all the positives I have experienced, the only negative I can think of would possibly for backpackers. I know every ounce can count when backpacking and, of course, the foam that I like in the sides of the pod add a little more weight. But I really don't see or can think of any other possible negative. This is a wonderful product!
Good Gear Storage
Received this gear pod, I placed my bike spare parts in it. I was not super keep on the mesh top at first as they tend to fail quickly. This one however seems nice and thick and therefore should hold up pretty well over time. Simple but exactly what you would want and expect. stackable and allows for separation of gear between type or people.
Great Small Storage Solution
Overall this is a great product and worth the buy if you're looking to upgrade your storage system. I got this to help me organize some of my bike gear and it's done a great job so far. One of the first things you'll notice is the overall quality of the material. Strong, solid zipper, very rigid outer cover and high quality mesh on the top. I went back and forth between a 4 and 5 star review only because the material itself isn't flexible. Ultimately I landed on a 5 because I'm assuming that's the goal... For me I would've loved to have it stretch a bit more so I could cram a little more in there, but that's being pretty picky. Overall great product, would highly recommend.
Practical adventure storage.
This was a great storage solution for our cycling adventures. We switch cars frequently based on the time of riding. I used this for common tools/parts and what not that we typically may need at the trailhead. The mesh, see through top was great for easily seeing (and not forgetting) what was stored. It was the right size for our needs and also allowed for things to stay dry/ventilated.
