Poor design
After reading several reviews about these boots being difficult to put on I purchased them anyway. Wow wow wow it is so much worse than I could have imagined. Just poor product design. With my kid putting his full weight behind it and me pulling as hard as I could without hurting him we could not get his heal to slide past the back of the boot. There just isn’t enough stretch in the tongue. I exchanged them today for a nice pair of Keen’s. Similar design but they go on. Highly recommend skipping these for literally any other boot.
NOT Waterproof
Kid needed a new pair of waterproof hikers. They come in fun colors. Are true to size. Fit snuggly. Have good traction, but definitely not waterproof. Kid went to a camp where the kids boarded boats, walked along the shoreline, visited marshy places. Water went right through them. Disappointing soggy socks and complaints.
10 year old loves them
So initially my son and I didn't like the color but after he put them on in store we both actually really liked the way they looked. He's only worn them a couple times for some build up hikes in prep for a couple section hikes we're doing. So far, break in is seemingly unnecessary. He has walked up to 10 miles in 1 go on mostly class 2 some 3 terrain carrying a 5 lb backpack. No hot spots or blisters and he doesn't complain about sore feet/ankles/knees or anything else. Money well spent.
Returning
Too hard for our 7r old to put on. They seem good and n many other ways. We sized up knowing they might be hard to put on but that’s didn’t really help. Will likely return them since they haven’t gotten easier with several uses.
Wonderful boots!
Most comfortable hiking boots I have ever had! They fit well and are great for hiking. I have always had trouble finding hiking boots I can use for backpacking.
