Big Utility In A Small Lightweight Package
The humangear GoBites Bio Uno Spork packs a lot of features into such a small product. The spork is super lightweight, only 15 grams, so ultra-backpackers have no fear. There are several ergonomic features that make you wonder why all sporks aren't designed this way. Both ends of the spork curl up to form a U-shape, allowing it to fit in either hand. There is a unique bevel on the main handle for your thumb or forefinger to easily rest, while providing extra grip. The two outer tines of the fork are beveled into more of a knife-edge that allow you to easily slice food. The spoon end is designed not to form a blunt point like most spoons, but more a a dull/flattened U shape that allows you to scrape your container clean. The ultra-strong nylon material is also BPA-free, PC-free, and Phthalate-free-free, making this one great spork. Add in a lifetime warranty and you can't ask for anything better!
Good for eating out of metal containers
This is a nice little utensil for eating out of metal cups or pots because you don't get that metal on metal clanging from some other utensils. It's little short for eating straight out of freeze-dried meal packets without getting your fingers in the bag, but I usually cut the tops off the bags anyways for ease of use. Really nice ergonomics - my thumb rests nicely in the curvature of whatever end I'm not eating with. Overall, a simple and solid utensil for camping or picnics.
Handy!
I received this product for free in exchange for an honest review fyi. So to begin with, right after this item arrived it vanished… only to reappear in my dog’s toy basket weeks later. I am sure he picked it up and decided it was his! I didn’t see any obvious bite marks and I would say it’s pretty darn durable to survive being a dog toy for a couple weeks and still be in pristine condition for human use afterwards. Anyway, this is very handy for those with camp-related space saving needs or just general addiction to efficiency. It’s ergonomic and made from sustainable, non toxic materials which is great. It feels more sturdy than similar products I have used in the past and I will report back if any issues arise with it’s structural integrity. Recommend!
Light but solid
I've used this humangear GoBites utensil several times so far: once in the wild, and a few times traveling. It's very convenient to carry along, because it's extremely lightweight and somewhat flat. It's easy to eat with, because the spoon is still plenty deep and the fork prongs are sharp. Even though the product is light, it's still solid. It doesn't feel flimsy. I confess that I prefer this kind of utensil in a light metal, such as titanium; I just like the eating experience better. That's the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars rather than 5.
Great lightweight option for chowing down!
Fantastic lightweight option at home in the office or on the trail. Cross-handle ridge reinforcement makes it strong enough to scoop even the thickest peanut butter. The fork sis solid and works as intended. Absolutely a worthwhile addition to your kit!
Handy when you need it or every day use
What do you say? It’s a spoon/fork combo. I’ve got titanium ones and these “plastic” ones. Not sure if they’re indestructible but for their intended use and sitting otherwise in my sling bag, they work. One thing to note- rather than the common recurve or “s” shape of some combo sporks, this has a single curve with the spoon/fork surfaces on the same side. This makes fitting into my sling smoother. It just “spoons” something else in my bag. Doesn’t leave one end poking up. I use this everyday rather than the plastic ware in the break room. Also have it for the drive through situation where we don’t have utensils.
Great spork
I really enjoy this product. I have used a few different reusable plastic sporks and this by far is my favorite. I like the way it feels in hand. It seems very durable so far and doesn’t bend as much as others. I have used it camping but find myself using it instead of my utensils at home.
Backpacking Spork
I used this Spork on a recent backpacking trip around our foothills. I did a 10 mile hike roundtrip and used the Sport for lunch where I boiled some water to heat up a mountain house meal. It was great when I started eating but it was difficult to get to the bottom because the spork was kind of short. It would be nice if they had the same thing but a little longer.
Great Standard in Sporks
I bought two of these, one for each of my kids for a backpacking trip we took together. They loved the novelty of this spork, and how light it is in their pack. I had one of these 15-20 years ago and it was one of my favorite pieces of equipment. My kids are hard on gear and I can tell that these are going to hold up well. They clean easily with soap and a little brush and the tines are wide enough apart that you can get any "stuck in there" food out easily. I do regret getting the dark blue as it would be hard to see if you dropped it. The pale teal one was easier to spot.
Great addition to my lunch bag
Love the way it feels. Fits my hand well. Very durable feel. I think it will hold up to any eating adventures well. It is now in my lunch bag as a constant travel companion. This will be a setup across my family.
