How to Choose Knives and Tools

An excellent knife for freshwater boating and rescue, the NRS Pilot knife is purpose-built for watersports but it's so versatile that you'll want to keep one in the car, camp bin and garage.

Lifejackets require a specialized knife clip, and this one is nice and secure. The easy thumb release and blunt tip are a plus (especially in inflatable raft). It easily cut my rope when I tested the blade. turns out the backside of the blade is beveled but not sharp for spreading PeanutButter and such.
Perfect for whitewater rafting. Easy access release and clips onto my PDF as designed.
There's a saying: never paddle without a rope. And another saying: never paddle with a rope without a knife. This is a great paddler's knife. Stainless won't rust. Safety tip won't likely stab the user. Great for cutting rope. I recommend affixing it to the PFD lash point.
