I had some Brooks Ghost 14’s from three years ago and thought I’d try more Brooks since I liked them. I tried Saucony, New Balance these Glycerins, the Ghost 15’s and some others. I ended up buying both these Glycerin’s and the Ghost 15’s which were on clearance. I try to walk seven days a week for at least 30 minutes so I was buying them as a walking shoe. After trying my old Ghost-14’s, the 15’s and the Glycerin’s I favor these Glycerin’s. They have more cushion, even sort of bounce a bit which I believe would be even more benefit to a runner (I used to run) but walking pretty exclusively on concrete they have the cushion I want. They are pretty stable but can give a bit side to side and will tend to sort of push or bounce back. The Ghost 15’s were more stable, good but not as good cushion and I chose them for more casual wear than exercise. If you want max cushion I’d recommend the Glycerins.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Glycerin 21 are true to size and fit my feet snugly, which is exactly how I prefer my running shoes. As a moderate pace short distance runner, I was impressed by the stability and comfort. They are light weight with significant shock absorbing qualities which make running on hard surfaces not only tolerable, but enjoyable. The material has a soft quality feel that is breathable making it so my feet didn’t sweat. This running shoe has a modern, thoughtful design that has me excited about running again. I particularly like that the flat laces stay tight and the removable inserts are easily replaceable. I wouldn’t change a thing.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This running shoe feels better than others I have worn however the style isn't as versatile. This shoe has a lot of support in the heel and seems to help propel forward in the front, it took a little getting used to the front propelling aspect as at first it seems like you are going to fall forward. The sole of the shoe is larger than most and doesn't seem to be proportional so that is where the style becomes a factor for an everyday wear. I would've liked the sole to be a matte finish rather than the shiny to lessen the draw of attention to that area. I will continue to use this as my running shoe and switch to something else for running errands.
The Glycerin series has always been my favorite from brooks. I owned 2 pairs of the Glycerin 20s and decided to try out the new ones. These are marginally better than the 20s, but an upgrade nonetheless. I’m actually very glad that they didn’t make any drastic changes because it was already a nearly perfect package. I pulled these shoes right out of the box and started a 16 mile run within 30 minutes of putting them on. During the run I kept thinking about how great these shoes are and after the run, my feet felt amazing. Will most definitely be buying more of these and if there’s a sale I will likely buy multiple!! Thank you for the great shoes Brooks!
This is my third pair of Brooks trainers and I absolutely love them. The Glycerin's are especially comfortable. It reminds me of walking over that spongy stuff they lay in kids playgrounds for safety. And that's what I felt wearing them. Hop, skip, jump, run or walk, they are comfortable and secure. Sadly, I guess they were paid the ultimate compliment because two weeks after I bought them someone stole them from outside my apartment door. So my advice to you all is to treat them like one of the family and really look after them. They are 'gold dust' trainers and I am sincerely mourning their loss. I will however, not hesitate to buy another pair.
This is a fantastic shoe for running, walking or daily wear. For me it fits better than any Glycerin models in the past 5 or 6 years. I wear 10.5 Wide in all my shoes, this one too. My foot feels secure and supported, plenty of cushion. I’m a pretty casual runner going 3-4 miles most days, a few half marathons each year. These are what “Easy like Sunday Morning” would be like if it was a shoe instead of a song. Just smooth, comfy and cozy. I am still begging Brooks to make more color options available in Wides. I’ve been wearing Brooks since 2012 and every year have “regular width” envy. Please, please, please give us more wide options.
I'm sorry to say, I'm not a runner. I bought these sneakers because I walk very swiftly about 12,500 to 17,000 steps per day. I had a lot of foot issues, ball and heal. This model is by far the most comfortable sneaker I have ever worn in my life. It's like walking on air. I have 2 pair of the Adrenaline line and they are great too. There is only one small issue that I don't like. The laces are slippery, so they don't stay tight. I have to re-tighten them a couple times per day. I think it's because they are new and it will fix itself over a period of time. I really love the color schemes you offer. I'm a Brooks customer for life.
Bought these shoes recently to replace a pair of Glycerin G13 with +1500 miles since 2013. I was extremely frustrated to learn how running shoes have changed. I'm 60yo, 6'2" & 201lb. I am a neutral runner with very mild over-pronation. However the stack height was way too high, and the heel strike felt ultra poor, due to hardness of the HUGE recycled plastic foam heels. I felt like I was running in high heels. The toe plate did not suite me either. I just need a lower profile, less obnoxious shoe. No problems with the speedy return after a 10-mile test run. Definitely found my shoe in the repurchase of a 11.5 Hyperion.
I???ve been wearing Glycerin and Ghost models for over 10 years. Generally I love them. I have a pair of Glycerin 21 Stealth and regular models. On both pairs there the shoes are uncomfortable out of the box due to peculiarities of the manufacturing. The standard model has a hard seam at the base of the tongue where it attaches to the upper. It creates a pressure point that is very uncomfortable. In the stealth version, the knit upper is tight across the instep. I have two pairs of the G20 in stealth version that don???t have this tightness. Seems like manufacturing issues. Renders an otherwise phenomenal shoe uncomfortable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These sneakers are wonderful for running. I find that my feet and legs are alot less sore after starting to use these sneakers. I have been running casually for exercise for a while but never invested in a good pair of running sneakers. Now that I've tried these it's a game changer, you can really feel the difference. The sole are thick and cushiony and provides great arch support. It's hard to explain but because of the shape of the soles, the shoes kind of help propel you forward and leads to a very smooth run. The toe box is wide enough that your toes have space to spread out with each step. And the fabric is breathable which is very important to me because i hate when my feet get hot. I think these run a tiny bit small, next time i might size up just a half size.
