Way narrow.
I have long narrow feet for a guy. These shoes are too narrow for me. I've never had to wear a wide, but if I were to buy these again, I'd have to try a wide. I really don't understand what Hoka was thinking, considering their shoes are supposed to provide enough room for foot splay. My feet felt like they were being bound in a torture device in these shoes..

terrible design of these shoes
I have been running in Hoka shoes for years. For a long time in the carbon… which Hoka stopped making. So I switched over to the Mach. My first Mach was a Mach 5. I decent shoe that I had no issues with. But then Hoka changed the design and we got the Mach 6. The Mach 6’s toe box design is terrible. My toes hurt like crazy after 5 km of running. After 30, my feet are in a great deal of pain. I was hoping that it might just need some time to break in. But I have now done 100km in them, and they still hurt. I have a marathon coming soon, and there is no way I can use these…. So I just bought new shoes - not Hoka.

My new favorite shoe

Perfect show right out of the box. While this is not a walking shoe, it is a great trainer for your long, or short run.

REI Return Policy is Excellent!

I’m giving a five star review for REI’s customer service and return policy. I ended up not keeping this specific pair of Hoka’s as they didn’t seem comfortable and had so much cushion they didn’t feel stable. I purchased a different Hoka model and like them a lot. But the five star review is for sure the excellent return policy; no questions asked just brought them back, received a full refund and the employee who did the exchange executed the refund with a smile

Light and feels fast

Been running in the Hoka Clifton for years and decided to try the Mach 6. The Mach 6's are noticeably lighter. Found that the cushioning is a lot 'bouncier' and the shoe makes you roll of your toes propelling you forward making you feel a lot faster. The only gripe is that the tongue is un-padded and thus very thin, but hasn't been an issue on my runs so far.

Hurts Knees

I have ran 6 marathons, 2 in mach 5's. Version 6 is tighter in the toe box... a 1/2 size bigger it gets sloppy and the foot moves around too much. I've tried for close to a year to make version 6 work without success and it eats away at my knees. There is seriously something wrong with this version

Love

Very light and comfortable. Internal elastic gives a nice lockdown on my foot. I have super flat feet so started using some PT recommended orthotics to prevent injury, but these were supportive enough and comfortable without for a while. A bit squishy for my liking for everyday wear, but still a decent ground feel while running, which is mainly what i use them for. Holding up great and still looking clean now with 4 months of ~15 miles a week of outdoor running
