Benchmade  273-03 Mini Adamas Pocket Knife

The knife is great and everything I expected it to be for the most part. I will however mention that I ordered mine online since my local store didn’t have it in stock, and when it arrived I did notice that the light bronze accents that are shown in the pictures look a lot more like matte FDE in person. In summary, great knife, but if you’re buying it because you think the light bronze accents with the carbon fiber is a good combo, you might be disappointed when you see it in-person. If you’re not into carbon grips with FDE accents, then I’d recommend getting one of the other colorways and save a few bucks. But then again, maybe the one I got is an outlier.

I have a few benchmades, this is a special one. The CPM magnacut steel is exceptional. A robust & luxurious knife to take on any adventure despite its luxurious materials. I like the carbon scales, the feel of the handle and I’ve used mine the past few months now with no issues. The blade is great for camp tasks and is able to be used in water or for cooking without rust issues.

This is an excellent blade. Built like a tank, the knife lends confidence in the hand. Interestingly, for such a large knife, the handle is a bit snug for a large hand. If your hands on on the large side of XL, this blade won't feel quite right in your grip. The Axis lock is excellent as always. Sadly, I dropped the knife recently - perhaps 12-18" to rock. Instantly chipped the Magnacut blade! While it's never good to drop a blade, accidents happen - and seeing this level of damage after a minor fall was really disappointing.

I have several knives in varying size and function. But this is my absolute #1 knife. It's compact, but the knife and blade and chunky enough for jobs big and small. This knife is superbly well balanced and opens easily with one hand. Locks confidently. The pocket clip (reversible) is solid. Handle has several grooved areas for finger grip and a small finger hilt. If I only could take one knife this would be it.

Love this knife so far. I have the mini adamas in green but fell in love with the aesthetics of this one. Solid knife for my daily use.

Bought over a month ago and I love this knife. Been a huge fan of the Osborne series but this tops my expectations.

I was sent a used knife that looked like it had been left in water, it was very dirty and has rust spots. I had to go out of my way to oil it and clean it but I was very upset that I purchased a new knife and they sent me something used. The knife itself is gorgeous

Love the look and feel. The blade is stable and the finish is more impressive than the photo.

This is a small chonky knife, which I don't dislike. It's great for the field but also as an edc for days when you don't mind the extra chonkiness in your pocket. It feels very sturdy in the hand, not too slicy because of the thickness of the blade, but like you can do heavy cutting, and everything is nicely finished. Unfortunately that comes with one caveat, the edge chips easily. First this happened when butchering an aoudad (invasive Texas Barbary sheep), the blade apparently contacted bone at some point and a ca. 1x2mm chip resulted, though I never remember knuckling down on bone. Then again when I was whittling and got a little carried away and lightly hit a rock under the piece I was working, three more small chips appeared on the blade. I've used knives with aus-8 steel for years, extensively, and can positively say that that steel would not have chipped under these conditions. I have read forums suggesting maybe the blade got too hot and changed the temper of the thin edge during factory sharpening, so I've aggressively resharpened twice to get down to the better temper as suggested in those comments, but so far it's still a little chippy. At the honestly ludicrous price for this knife the steel should perform better than this. That said, I still enjoy this knife.
