[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My grandkids didn't want to wait for a camping trip to try out our new tent. They wanted to sleep outside without the fly on the tent so we could go to sleep gazing at the stars. The boys are 7 and 8 and helped me put the tent up, it was unbelievably easy and fun doing it together. Even though we didn't put the fly on the tent they wanted to read the instructions on how to put it on. The 7 year old commented on how genius it was to sew the instructions to the inside of the bag and it's not paper, so it won't rip. The only thing I wish is that the bag was just a bit more spacious. Which seems to be pretty common with camping gear.
Use it for the first time this weekend. It was so easy and I loved it. The only thing I wish it had was some thing like a stake at the front center of the screen so when you pulled the zipper up something was there to hold down the floor. I also wish there was some sort of a hook on the interior center of the tent to hold a very light lantern like my old tent did when I was a kid. Not sure yet how I feel about the whole back window being screen only and you’re not able to cover it up.
I've been tent camping for 40years. Best the ever
I could not sleep well because it was so cold inside at night with 50°F outside. Cold wind came inside from the gap between the tent's bottom part and the rainfly. If the end of the rainfly reached the ground, the gap might not have been big, keeping me from the cold wind invasion. But as you can see, the Coleman logo-printed rainfly part does not meet the ground. Was I wrong in setting up the tent? Everything I was fully satisfied. However, I did not experience the benefits of the Darkroom function because I could not sleep long due to the cold.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tent was super easy to set up. The poles are sturdy and strong. Storage bag attachment is helpful and ensures that I won't lose it. It's nice to stand up without having to be hunched over. It provided enough space for my family of five that we weren't on top of each other. While the bottom is comfortable and waterproof, and can be set up in a variety of places, we had padding to ensure comfort. It will also support an air mattress. The windows open enough that it provides air to flow through so it doesn't feel hot or stuffy. We haven't used it during rain but we have used it during the drizzle and it kept everything inside dry.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tent was very easy and simple to put up! The package said only 5 minutes to set up but honestly took my husband and I 20 minutes as it's so big. After we got it set up we let it air for a couple minutes and it definitely had that new tent smell. This tent is definitely a good size for 6 people and had so much room! The zippers worked well and didn't get stuck at all. The little room up front is very spacious to sit so bugs don't get to you. It's also very breathable in there. I highly recommend this tent. It's very easy to put up once you get it figured up and very easy to take down and roll up and store away.
We finally got use this tent over the weekend. I am impressed. It stormed on us every day, even had quarter size hail on Saturday. The screen room did get water in it, user error, the zippers need to be completely zipped and “pushed outward” then no water will come in. The room was great for taking off shoes covered in sand and mud, thus no sand or mud inside the sleeping area. The sleeping portion of the tent stayed completely dry. Plenty of room, and all the pockets are great!
Finally just used it last week for 5 nights and loved both the DarkRoom tech and the foyer. The DarkRoom tech took place of my eye mask and allowed me to sleep an hour longer which was fantastic! The foyer took the place of our pop-up changing room. the tent has plenty of space for a queen Aerobed and the foyer plenty of space for this 5'9" guy to stand-up and change in. Easy to put up with two of the poles already attached and one corner of the rain fly color coded. I love that the poles don't need to be slide into sleeves because clips are used instead. Definitely gets warm during the day unless the foyer windows are opened, but was nice as our temps got down to the low 50s at night.
I have to say that I am impressed. From the packing and setup design to the darkroom fabric (which actually works pretty well!), this is an amazing value. We only have one night under our belts in this tent but this seems like a great car camping tent option for the money. Weighs about as much as my fully loaded backpacking pack, but it feels substantial and will probably hold up to the abuses of family camping for a long time.
The tent was a wedding gift for my daughter an her future husband. They loved it!! They enjoyed the extra space as it is an upgrade from their last tent. They fit comfortably with their dog sleeping in the tent. She said the screen tent on the front was a game changer.
