Excellent, versatile base layer
I now own a couple of these and love them. They're great for hiking & backpacking - they keep the sun off, they're breathable, and even when they get sweaty on hot days they dry quickly. They're also a great base layer when you need the warmth. I recently wore the same shirt for three days backpacking, and it didn't smell anywhere near as badly as it probably should have. Highly recommend.

I own a lot of Smartwool base layers because Smartwool consistently produces high quality clothing that fits me well. I wear wool year-round because wool just performs better and doesn't stink like synthetics. I bought this for hiking and sun protection. The mesh material on this hoodie feels amazing. Sizing is consistent with other smartwool stuff. I am 6'2", 180lbs and wear size large.

Exactly what I was hoping for. Very lightweight, very simple, very good sun protection. It has held up flawlessly after about a dozen washes.
