I bought this chair a couple of years ago, and it's been great for taking on the road. I also have a much more comfortable chair, but it's bulky, heavy, and awkward to carry any distance. This chair fills a specific niche—it stays in the bed of my truck under the tonneau cover, and it's lightweight, easy to carry, and comfortable enough for my son's sporting events. I'm not taking naps in it—it’s not that kind of comfortable—but it’s perfect for what I need.
A nice, comfortable, and relaxing chair. Is not too heavy or bulky and packs into its carry bag fairly easily. it has X frame legs, which makes it very stable. Its "X style" mesh in the back and seat helps keep you cool in the heat and dries quickly. Cup holder on right arm rest is an odd oval-ish shape, but does it's job and keeps your drink of choice upright. left arm rest also has an extra drop-down pocket with a cinch tie closure.
I'm 5'4" the back hits me in a most uncomfortable spot. Will b returning
Great chair. Built well comfortable and outlasts similar chairs from other retail outlets by years. I used these chairs quite a bit outside on the patio, sporting events, and camping. They saw an unreasonable time in the sun on the back patio before they finally gave out. Worth the extra money.
I got this chair recently when it was 30% off, and so far I love it. It comes in "alpine green" or a sunburnt orange color, and I got the green. On REI's site they are listed as 2 separate chairs, but as far as I can tell, they are the same chair just in different colors and with a very slight difference in the type of metal in the legs. I sat in both the orange and green in the store, and couldn't tell a difference. So I guess you could get some of each if you wanted color variation. Anyway...its mesh body is supposed to be good for keeping you cool during the hot months. This is not a winter camping chair, but I only camp during spring-summer-fall anyway. If it's chilly, I will just wear sweatpants or line the seat w/ a blanket. The cupholder is sort of a rounded, elongated triangle shape, so that you can fit a bigger cup or a small bottle. I was skeptical if this would tip my drinks over because they end up leaning toward or away from you, but actually it seems to work fine. If it bothers you you can stuff something in the corner to make the drink more upright. To get the most mileage out of it, keep it stored indoors and out of the sun when you don't need it. I assume that if you leave it outside year-round, it will deteriorate faster. If you can get this when it's on sale, I think the price is fair.
We love these chairs. These were purchased to replace basically the same chairs that gave us 10 years of use. we used these chairs for many camping trips, day outings and youth sporting events. These chairs may be slightly heavier than newer models available today, but are very easy to unbag/bag and carry.
I was skeptical of the mesh seat, but it’s really held up well. My husband loves it and we’ve taken it camping a few times - still looks like new!
Very comfortable. I had been looking for a quality and comfy chair for awhile and finally found it.
We bought two of these chairs and they fell apart just after the one year mark. We bought two more and the same thing happened. We were so excited to find such light weight chairs that actually hold water bottles used for camping, but they just aren't made well. Very disappointing.
it's really nice - JUST RIGHT - it's a lower chair, but not a sand chair. I just received the chair and it's fantastic.
