I bought this for my son after a lot of research. It is about same weight as a REI trail 25 or Talon 22, but it's got 30L of space. It has better hip pads, not say as good as the 40L backpacks but it makes the Skarab 22 look terrible. It has an extra pouch in front to cram, unlike the REI trail 25. It's got a upper exterior pocket, included water hydration pouch with the magnetic osprey lock in front. It has all of the daisy chains and attachments like the REI trail 25, so you miss out on nothing. It has dual side pockets but they even zip up, unlike the REI trail 25. You don't miss out on pockets like the Talon 22. It has the vented back like the Talon 22 so you have that comfort, plus the hip pouch that sucks you in like the 40L backpacks. To me, it's the ultimate pack, after hours of research and trying out daypacks. It's not ultralight, but it's ultra close to it.
A great bag for a few days of hiking. Added a three liter bladder for water and with a sleeping bag, change of clothes and all other gear, the bag was a dream. The weight is distributed evenly and all the pockets on the bag work great.
Great price/quality range! Been taken on up to 5 hikes around NY and ME states. Quite light and roomy at the same time, greatly sits on hips while hiking - so completely no pushing on shoulders!
Very well made. A lot of great places for storing. Love it.
