I purchased the Guide 17 for a walking trip to NYC
I recently went into Super Runners to have my feet measured and find the right sneakers for running. I’ve been using my HOKA Cliftons but was lacking arch support which was causing some issues with my knees. These Saucony’s were recommended and I’m absolutely thrilled with them. They have the right amount of support for my runs and my knees don’t have the same pain I was experiencing when running even just a 5k. If you have flat feet and need the extra support for your runs, these are the perfect sneakers.
I bought these on May 25 and hadn’t even worn them for two months before the tread on the sole was gone. They are comfortable, but less than two months of walking about three miles a day is too fast for them to wear out.
I bought these a month ago but they have not broke in. The inner heel area is tight and causes rubbing and blisters. I had two pair of saucing Omni shoes that I loved and wore well. I even tried to move the inner liners between shoes but that didn’t help. The rest of the shoe is loose and comfortable.
I’m only 99 miles into these shoes and the soles are wearing out. It’s not what I’m used to with Saucony shoes. I normally get 300 miles in a pair. I’m disappointed in the quality.

I bought these shoes a month ago looking for a daily trainer. I am historically not a stability shoe fan — but this is not a typical stability shoe. This corrects your foot, knee, and hip positioning ever so subtly by working with your gait vs. forcing your foot into an unnatural direction. The cushioning absorbs all sorts of shock but is not dead underfoot and rebounds well. It’s not necessarily a speed shoe, but it’s a perfect shoe for people who have historically worn neutral shoes but could benefit from a little more stability. I’ve been running for 20 years and these are among my favorite shoes I’ve ever had. (And trust me, I was skeptical!)
I’ve worn Saucony Guides for last 15 years plus in running several half and 5 full marathons with no issues. Bought the 17’s in November and wore them once and got a blister on left inside heel but was wearing new type of socks so blamed it on the socks. Haven’t worn them since until yesterday. This time I wore my regular running socks and again wore a blister on left inside heel after only a 5 mile walk. I have no issues with my other running shoes. It’s just the left shoe, no issue with the right. So only worn twice and blister on left foot each time.
Love these shoes. They are good support for my plantar fasciitis and help quite a bit. They also offer pretty good stability. I don't usually order anything with a raised sole at all because it doesn't work out well for me but I'm not having any problem with these. The fit is excellent, the comfort is A+ and although I was concerned about the money I spent to get them, it didn't take long for me to realize they were worth every penny. This is my first pair of Sauconys (my foot doctor recommended them) and they won't be my last. They're even cute.
Thank you for sharing your experience!
I have been using the Saucony Guide design for a decade and the Guide 17 is by far the worst new design. The tounge of the shoe is attached on the inside of the shoe so it has no movement whatsoever. I don't know why companies have started to design shoes this way but it is so annoying. Some of us actually have arches and find it painful to run when the shoe tounge does not move and instead cuts into our ankle. The ankle needs to have open movement when running. It feels like Saucony is now only catering to aesthetics and not practicality. Go back to having the shoe tounge not attached to the inner side walls of the shoe.
We appreciate your feedback. Thank you.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Saucony Guide 17 is a great every day training shoe. I feel well supported, stable and appreciate the soft cushion and lightness to the shoe. The sidewalls are significant, and the base feels wide and comfortable. I also love the overall look and design. Feel it’s on trend with other runners on the market. Great color choices too. Saucony has a great running shoe with the Guide 17! Definitely loving it so far.
