Quality and nice look - but not for thick thighs!
These shorts are really comfortable and seem high quality but they aren’t made for people with thick thighs in my opinion. I ordered a 10 and I’m usually a 12 and the waist was big and the thighs were tight like bike shorts. My hunt to find shorts that fit my body type continues. I may need to buy men’s shorts. I am 5’11 with 31 waist and 45 hip. Maybe the 12 would have been better but I don’t feel like In would have wanted the waist any larger than this. Maybe I got an older version of the Quandary also because mine didn’t have a glasses tab on it. The pockets were kinda small imo too. Still otherwise really nice shorts and would be amazing for someone with slim thighs.
Order 2 sizes larger than you usually wear
The material is nice, quick to dry, etc. However, I can only give 2 stars to something that runs at least 2 sizes smaller than advertised. I ordered a 10 and a 12, I usually wear a 10. I couldn't get the 10 past my hips and thought I may have ordered a child's size. The 12 was only slightly better - could get them up, but not buttoned.
Sizing off
I have purchased these shorts the past 2 seasons because the sizing was perfect for me. The sizing is one or two sizes smaller this year. I will be returning them since I don't want to spend the time trying to figure out which size would fit.
Great shorts for a variety of activities!
I like these shorts a lot. The main reason I gave them 4 out of 5 stars is because I wish the waistband had a little bit of stretch. They fit well when they are on, and are not too tight or too lose, but pulling them on was harder because the waistband doesn't have any give. The quality is great, and I think the length is perfect and flattering; not too long and not too short. I look forward to wearing these on many adventures!
Fast drying, comfortable
Originally ordered these for a Grand Canyon rafting trip and now they are my go-to! I typically order a 2 or a 4 in Patagonia. The looser fit I normally size down, and the slimmer fit I tend to be at a 4. These I ordered in a two and they were comfortable but fitted. For the lose fit they are designed for they are true to size. They are just long enough to not show all your leg, but short enough not to be Bermuda trunks.
Sizing is too small
I’ve been wearing this style short for 10 years and maintained size 10. The 10 in these new shorts could barely get up 1 leg. The material was great but I would wear a 14 in these now. It’s too bad Patagonia changed the fit and sizing. These used to be amazing

LOVE these shorts, but so disappointed that the sizing is different now. I ordered a new pair for 4 years in a row. Sadly need to return this.
My absolute favorite shorts. Just don't like this year's color selection but will be buying more as soon as they have a palette I like again!
Sizing way off!
Sizing is way off and the fabric is not as stretchy as last year. Disappointed as I thought they would have been the same as 2023’s
Too small
I have a similar pair of Patagonia shorts from years ago, and they still fit well. This pair is very tight for a size 12.
