This was my first Nemo sleeping bag and I wasn't quite sure how I would like it. This bag is full of features, but I found them practical and worthwhile. First off, I found this bag roomy, as intended. It was the most comfortable sleeping bag that I have ever used. I'm 5'5 and felt like I was at the maximum height to be comfortable in the regular length. If you are 5'6, you might also want to try the long length to see which you prefer. The roominess, however, caused some struggles to stay warm due to cold pockets. I slept in this bag in a variety of temperatures and only stayed comfortably warm in temperatures in the mid 30s and above (in a tent and using an insulated pad). I do sleep cold, but it was disappointing given the advertised comfort rating. I found the Thermo Gills useful in warmer temperatures. I stayed comfortable with them unzipped in 50 degree weather, and didn't have a problem finding the zippers in the dark. Now for some other features. I had no problems with any of the zippers. They all worked smoothly and didn't catch on the fabric. I liked the pillow pocket and found it useful for both using an inflatable pillow and stuffing clothing in it for a makeshift pillow. I'm a bit neutral on the blanket fold. It can get in the way when not tucked in, but it also does a good job at comfortably keeping out drafts in colder temperatures. The waterproof fabric did a good job at protecting the foot area from condensation and keeping down loft. Because of the 650 fill, this bag isn't super compact. At over 3lbs, it's also relatively heavy. I wouldn't recommend it for more than an occasional backpacking trip. It excels for car camping. Overall, it is a well designed comfortable bag that covers a solid temperature range. It is a fantastic all around sleeping bag!
This sleeping bag is really comfortable. It is shaped well to allow extra space to wiggle around. You can even sleep with your legs in a "4" position. I am 5'3" and the regular size felt perfect with some extra leg room. The vents allow you to control how much outside air is coming dependent on your preferred sleep temperature. The blanket fold draft collar is a feature that is amazing that I've not had before. It helps mimic the feeling of a comforter at home tucked under your chin or nose. It comes with a compression sleeve for carrying in a pack, but a more spacious storage bag as to not permanently compress the down. Overall this was very comfortable and I will enjoy using it again in the future. I could see it not being the most ideal option for backpacking due to its weight, but for all other applications it will be a great option!
Bag has a sharp color (light green), came with oversized storage square bag for and a compression bag. The strap on the compression bag broke on my first use, but when taking this on an overnight backpacking trip, I would definitely swap out to a waterproof compression bag. I did have trouble packing it down into the medium ones I had on hand so I would suggest needing a large size compression sack. Should you want to swap out the one that it comes with for a waterproof version. I am 5’3 and have a regular length bag it could easily fit someone of 56 or 57 it actually gave me a little bit nice extra space in the head to tuck it down around me and keep me nice and warm. This bag is rated down to 15°. I was only able to test it in a 28° situation based on time of year that I received it but it kept me toasty and warm all night. I really like how there are the vents that you can unzip in the knee area to let a little bit of airflow in. The bag has a unique hourglass type shape that gives you extra room in the hips to move around and plenty of foot box space, which I really appreciated because I do like to roll over in my bag! Felt nowhere as constricted as other mommy bags I’ve used, but the trade-off would be this one packs down to be a little bit larger. My favorite part of the bag is the neck baffle to tuck in to keep cold air out! Looking forward to using this one again! Kept me snug as a bug with plenty of space to move but tight enough to keep cold air out! I would give it a five except for the compression sack that broke upon arrival on first use!
I was really impressed with how comfortable this sleeping bag was. I had high expectations as I already use the Nemo forte 20 sleeping bag and I absolutely love it. This bag is perfect for colder camping trips and for packing down really small into a backpack. As a bigger girl I was also pleasantly surprised that I could zip the sleeping bag around my shoulders and still be comfy. For the times that you are not using it the bag that it comes in is also considerably smaller than the forte 20 which saves a lot of room storing in my gear room. Also great for staying warm in the backyard during outdoor movie nights, easy to pack back away! Highly recommend this sleeping bag and honestly all Nemo products.
Just purchased my disco 15 woman’s bag shortly before they changed/revamped it to the Disco 15 “Endless Promise” So far so good/warm, i like it but haven’t tested down to any temps worth mentioning. Will update in the future. Heads up to previous Disco 15 owners needing to replace/update your old bag….. The new NEMO Disco “”Endless Promises” is 1” smaller in every sizing measurement ;Length, Shoulder, Hip, and Knees. (Don’t think I’m wrong about knees/will double check). The Woman’s Large was the same measurement as the Men’s regular and the new men’s “Endless Promise” shrunk as well. I’m fairly certain there is several Oz. Less down as well. The ISO rating is slightly less warm than last years bag too. The new bag has horizontal baffles below the waist and inside gill zippers so that’s a plus’s. Several ounces lighter too.
Comfy bag for sure, but I was cold! In 25 degree weather I froze. I’m an avid camper and have a 0 degree REI bag that is almost 15 years old, and I thought I was due for an upgrade. Turns out, 0 degree is the right move for me. I am also 5’6 and feel tall for the bag. Additionally, I’m thin built and feel like I had too much space around my body which I think contributed to being cold. It was just too much space to warm up. I also don’t love the collar. It was hard to keep in the right place which also probably contributed to being cold. That said, my friend has this bag and is curvy and 5’3 and was plenty warm in the same conditions. I think body type is an important consideration for this bag.
i have no complaints with this sleeping bag. it's awesome. i'm a hardcore side sleeper, which can be a bit challenging on the trail, but this sleeping bag combined with the tensor sleeping bag had me almost as comfy as at home. i thought the little tuck-in flap was a little silly on first glance, but i actually love it. this sleeping bag has a lot of ventilation options that keep it serviceable in warmer weather too. i slept several 50Âş nights in it no problem. also wanted to mention that unlike some other reviewers, my bag did come with a compression sack, and it's a decent one. i stuff it with my clothes and compress it way down to make a makeshift that i can stuff the hood with on warm nights. this was my first real investment in a sleeping bag and it has totally changed camping for me.
I love this bag! I’ll preface by noting that if you’re looking for the lightest backpacking bag on the market - look elsewhere. However, if you’re ok with a little extra weight in exchange for comfort and/or you’re car camping this bag is wonderful. I’ve owned the 15 for two years now and I have zero complaints. It’s kept me warm in frigid temps with an insulated pad and I’ve slept comfortably in it with the zipper open on 50 degree nights. My favorite part about the bag is it is a side sleepers DREAM. I can’t sleep unless I’m sideways, and I have plenty of room to pull my knees up on the side as a 5’8” girly. I’ve never had a problem with the zippers. Bag is super high quality and my friends are often jealous of it.
I borrowed a disco 15 from a friend before buying. Ot is comfortable and light enough for backpacking. Nemo sleeping bags used to come with a compression sack. This one came with a regular stuff sack (no way to compress). Kind of a bummer as the price is quite high.
I've always felt trapped in mummy sleeping bags, but this one changes things for me. I just brought it camping up to the Boundary Waters and while I definitely didn't need the temps down to 15 degrees, I really appreciate the side vents and I couldn't get over how cozy I was. It's the first time I've ever been able to be in a sleeping bag without a sweatshirt and wool socks. Now I'm trying to convince my partner to get a NEMO bag so we can zip ours together :)
