Good hat, give it a go!
Since we're all scared of products with no reviews I figured I'd do my civic duty and pick up this cap. So far so good, I'd give it a 4.5 if I could. I've been on the search for the perfect legionnaires hat for a while now, and this hat puts up a good fight for the top spot. The bill of the hat is nearly perfect, could be a smidge wider to block a bit more sun, but very good length. Fits as well as any other hat, easy adjustment on the back if you're into that sort of thing. The flap is obviously the most important part of a legionnaires cap, and this one is quite good - solid length, very minimal gap between shirt and the flap with a t-shirt, no gap if you wear a collared shirt. The flap also wraps well around the front of the cap to give decent side protection. Additionally the flap was given enough margin as to not clinge to your face, which helps keep you a little cooler. We all know nobody is winning many style points with a hat like this, but to us silly hat enjoyers, the UV protection is the most important factor, and this hat will keep you looking silly, but not sunburnt.

Disappointed
It is a very hot wearing hat. It would be better if drape covering the face sides and neck could be removed.

Good sun protection for my face and neck

I like everything about this hat, but a tweak or two would improve it. I wish the cape were a bit longer. While it does cover the back of my neck when wearing a t-shirt, moving my head around can cause it to bunch some leaving some gaps exposed to the sun. If some weights were added to the bottom of the cape in the back, maybe that would keep it from bunching. I like the snap to keep the cape from blowing around in the wind, though that makes it hard to keep my face and neck cool. All in all, it is a very good hat for protecting my face and neck from the sun.

2025-Aug Review; Great initial use. Will update.

2025-Aug Initial Review; Great initial use and will update in next several months. Pros: 1. Good fit. 2. Easily adjustable band. 3. Hat wrap protects mid- to upper-back-of-neck; ears; some of facial cheeks; an, all of front of neck. 4. Has snaps on wrap to pull the left- and right sides of the protective flap sides to be pulled together to protect the front-neck; chin; and some of face. 5. Vibrant colors. Cons: 1. Would like to see this in non-plastic materials like cotton. 2. Will wash after several sweaty uses and see how well the hat will handle front-loading washer and laundry bag and drying. Will report results in several weeks and months. ::

Lightweight and keeps the sun off my neck

I’ve been looking for a lightweight washable hat with a neck protection flap. This is perfect. The plastic snap makes the flap versatile and you can wear it in different positions. Adjustable buckle. L/XL fits well over my very thick wavy/curly hair. I’d buy this again and again and again.

Best hat I’ve worn in this style

This is one of the best hat outdoor hats I’ve ever worn. I work long hours outside filming adventure docu-series for film/tv. Protecting my neck and ears is super important, I’ve gone through so many hats like this and this is by far the best one I’ve worn. I just wish it came it in a green or brown, something that was more of an earth tone , but the hat is amazing

Mr

Working construction outdoors in this heat. I dunk this hat in a bucket of water and toss a bit of ice in it before putting it on. It keeps me going.

Great for running but button broke!

Fit is great, does a good job of protecting the sun on all sides. Very light and breathable. However after using it for less than 3 months, the button that clasps the front has ripped off.
