Sizing Notes

Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".

PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.

TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.

Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.

Inseam is measured to the floor.

Most comfortable waterproof pants

***I received this product and exchange for an honest review.*** I’ve only used this product once before, and I used it this past weekend since my area doesn’t get a ton of rain. First, trying on the pants was very comfortable fit really well. I’m typically a medium and could be a large for smaller sizing but these pants fit really comfortably and they were incredibly soft. I put them on without a liner under and remained comfortable throughout my 2 mile walk. The pants are 100% water proof. My only mistake was wearing shoes that were not waterproof therefore the water that dripped from my pants to my shoes eventually drenched my shoes. You should expect these pants to sound like waterproof pants however, they were not obnoxiously loud and were really soft and flexible when walking. I was actually surprised how much I liked these pants. The only downside was my height and their length. The bottom of the pants only have a small 2 inch Velcro size patch that attaches to close to pant and not allow the zipper to be visible but it does not function as a way to tighten the bottom of the pant to keep them from dragging on the floor. Again you can chose boots and that’ll solve the issue, but I found it to be a feature that would have been useful for someone shorter like me (5’1”) the front of the top half has an adjustable string that only will adjust the front half but it was a cool addition. I never felt the zippers all through the side of my legs nor did I feel the Velcro straps. Overall very very comfortable and 100% waterproof. I would recommend this product. Now I can walk my dog on rainy days without getting water in my shoes!

These pants did not hold up to being out in the woods. In one week, they got ripped on a branch. Thinking it was a fluke, and since REI would not take them back, I bought a second pair, which also ripped on a stick in the same week I bought them. They might be fine for a light walk on the road, but for actually hiking in the woods, they were an absolute waste of $200.

Great Rain Pants!

First off, if you order these the rain will stop so that was a plus. It actually took me a bit to use them, but once the spring rain started up they were fantastic. The zipper goes top to bottom which is great for getting them on or off over boots and lots of underlayers when necessary. It also allows for ventilation when hiking and the rain lets up for part of the trip. There was also a double Velcro closure at the top and single at the bottom which is what allow them to stay in place when the zipper is up or down. They also definitely kept me dry. The fit runs a bit loose, but that is perfect since I pull them on over clothes when hiking or riding my bike to work in the rain.

Great outer shell

These are rain she’ll pants. I’ve been using it for my daily walk since it has been really wet and windy lately. It adds an extra layer of warmth and it keeps my legs dry. They have a zipper that runs all along the sides and you can remove them easily if you want. This is a feature I didn’t know about, but I kinda like it now. They have that ‘swish’ sound when you walk, I think it a bit louder than other brands or REI products. I’m usually but Medium, but since I wanted it as my outer layer I got a Large. I think it runs small for a Large size.

Fantastic Rain Pants!

These are fantastic rain pants that will keep you dry even after spending several hours in the rain! I’ve worn these rain paints on rainy dog walks in the PNW, camping in the rain, and in some really lovely sleet and have always stayed completely dry even after an hour+ outside. These pants are on the somewhat looser side which makes them quite comfortable and easy to wear over layers. I’ve owned other rain pants that are slightly more fitted, which can look a little more suave, but I they don’t work as well with other layers and rain tends to seep through the fabric where it’s tighter. These pants also zip all the way down the sides, which makes getting them off really easy when they are wet/you have muddy shoes. I also really liked the velcro closures on the cuff, which mean the pants work well with a variety of different boot types/conditions. They also have a really nice little hanging loop by the tag – which is a small touch—but one I really appreciate when I hang them up to dry. These pants are somewhat on the lightweight side. This makes them really comfortable to wear but might also make them less durable if you plan to use them for more adventurous hiking or bike commuting.

Nice rain pants!

These are nice rain pants. My favorite feature is the side zipper which is full length on the outside of each leg. This makes it super easy to get these on and off quickly as weather changes! Easy to put them on while wearing hiking boots. These pants are good for rain, wind, or heavy mosquito situations. I only wish the fabric was a little more stretchy.

Ripped instantly, terrible quality

I was excited about these rain pants as I work outside in the PNW. Second day wearing the pants they ripped twice brushing up against a fabric pin. The second rip was about 5 inches long. As a landscaper, I'm constantly using fabric pins and other tools and have never had any clothing rip from this kind of use, especially so quickly. I was incredibly disappointed with the quality so I took them to my local store and they would not take them back. I would not trust these pants to hold up on a hike brushing against shrubs and branches and would highly suggest spending your money on anything else!

Waterproof, full zip. I keep these in my pack when mountaineering, so I don't have to worry about taking off my boots or crampons if I need to put them on. They don't "breathe", so I like that the top stays Velcroed. I've been able to unzip from the top to provide venting when it's not raining or snowing. 5'4, size 0 to 2, 135 pounds and size XS, petite fits the best. Not a stretchy material. No insulation or warmth from them. These are not a slim fit pant, so long underwear/base layers fit great to add warmth. Material has held up after multiple uses on the mountains.

Not durable, REI wouldn't accept return

The pants were decently rain proof, but not durable at all. On my first outing in these, I slipped and feel on my butt (not super hard or on anything rocky either) and they tore like crazy. What's lamer is that the REI I purchased them from wouldn't accept them back for a refund or even an exchange. For $100, I'd expect a bit better!

Waterproof and great sizing!

I took these on a week-long trip to Iceland and they were fantastic! They kept me completely dry in rainy weather and near waterfalls. Removing them without having to take my boots off was super convenient. And the petite sizing came in clutch - as a short gal with wide hips I needed a larger size but not the length! They were pretty wind-resistant as well. Super happy with them.
