Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Lightweight Rain Pants
These lightweight rain pants are very soft and water and wind proof. Also, they are made with a very flexible fabric which helps hiking up a mountain. I wore them hiking in a light rain and I stayed perfectly dry. Unlike other rain pants, I did not get too hot after a long hike. They are also great for everyday hikes because they are so lightweight. I also liked the zippered leg bottoms and the drawcords around the ankles. When I got too hot on a hike, I pulled them up to my knees and they stayed put for the remainder of my hike. Another good feature is they fold into one of the side pockets. . The only problem I had was the fit. The large size fits my waist perfect, but the rest of the pants were extremely baggy. I could not wear them without folding over the waistband.
Comfortable Fabric - PNW Approved
First impressions, I was turned off; however I have grown to love them. I like the fabric a lot. It is not the typical waterproof/resistant fabric I am used to: it feels more soft and flowy - closer to regular outdoor pant/everyday fabric. So far they are working well. They have kept me dry and warm in PNW rain and wind. They also seem to dry fairly quickly. The fit is OK. Stretchy elastic on the back of the band means they're easy to put on. They fit nice on the upper thighs, but I don't think I like how baggy they are from the knee down. It feels a little excessive. You are able to taper the leg cuffs by way of a bungie cord, but that still means the calf area is baggy. I would like my rain pant for biking (not just on foot) and am concerned that the calf area will catch in the chain. I am injured right now and am unable to ride, but I don't think I am going to attempt it out of fear of ripping the pants or potentially crashing. Even scenarios outside biking, when I don't use the bungee to tighten them up, it feels like I'm wearing bell bottoms. Other than the baggy calves, I have really grown to like wearing these pants and plan on bringing them with me for multi-day adventures. The other day while getting dumped on I looked at these pants and a different brand jacket that I was wearing and thought, "I should probably buy the jacket version of these." We will see how they hold up, but for now I recommend them.
Will keep you dry and comfortable!
The Fash Stretch Rain Pants are fantastic! The are comfortable for a day out in the rain whether you are hiking or watching your kid's soccer game. The inside material is comfortable. Since I'm in Southern California, even when raining it doesn’t get too cold so I typically hike in shorts. When it rains I put my rain pants on over my shorts and keep going. Most rain pants have a material that sticks to you once you have any preparation or they dont breathe so you start feeling sticky. That was NOT the case with these pants. The inside material was comfortable against my skin, even after a long, wet hike. They are very flexible (stretchy) too so climbing up boulders and stepping over downs trees was just as usual. The bottom zippers make them pretty easy to get on and off over your boots. These pants are as waterproof as they advertise. I sat in the rain at one of my kid's tournements completely exposed for 2 hours and my base layer didn't get the slightest bit damp. The only reason I gave these pants 4 stars vs 5, is because of the fit around the waist. I'm a larger gal but very proportional. The pants I tried are a 1X. Very comfortable room in the thighs, bottom, and legs but tight in the waist. I dont think going up a size would have worked as the rest was plenty roomy even over a few layers. Other than the (my opinion) odd waist sizing, these pants are awesome!
Soft and comfortable, could be everyday pants.
Imagine picking up a pair of rain pants that feel like regular hiking pants. That’s what the Flash Stretch Rain Pants feel like on your skin. Unlike traditional crinkly rain pants that stick to your skin, these pants are soft and comfortable. I've worn them multiple times during my fieldwork projects in rainy weather, and they've been a real lifesaver. The waterproofing acts as a protective barrier, keeping me dry and comfy. They are the type of pair of rain pants that I find myself wearing regularly, rather than just for those critical downpours. They are a bit stretchy but soft on the inside with a nice drawstring waist. The only downside for a shorter person is that they might be a bit long, but that's adjustable with the drawstring at the base. However, I would prefer a petite version. On each leg, there are velcro and zippers on the side to make it easy to put on and take off rain boots. There are two covered pockets on the sides, both with a little bit of fleece lining. Overall, these pants are so nice that you could wear them even on a regular day.
Stretchy!
I've owned several pairs of rainpants over the years, since often I hike and do trailwork in the rain. Pro: The REI flash stretch rainpants are extremely comfortable--who knew that rainpants could stretch? They are soft, inside and out. They kept me dry. Also, the zippered pockets are roomy, which I love, so I can put my phone, handkerchief, etc into them, and then zip them shut to keep the items dry. Con: I wish that the leg zippers were longer, for two reasons. First, it's challenging to put the rainpants on without taking off your boots. Also, I like a zipper that goes up to the hip, so I can zip it down for ventilation when it's warm and not raining too hard. Finally, the pants were baggier than most women's styles--my friend commented that they looked like men's pants on me. Still, baggy means comfy!
Comfortable and waterproof, a bit large
I received my pants fortuitously a day before a downpour during a hike that I had planned so I was able to test these out right away. I can confidently say these are, indeed, waterproof. Unlike my waterproof pants from ten years ago, these are far more comfortable! The fabric is considerably less plasticky from the fabric of my older pants. The fabric also drapes and moves a lot more naturally. The pants don't make that annoying swishing noise. They also stretch, so the fabric moves with you. In terms of sizing, they run a little large for me. I normally wear a size small but these are quite baggy and they balloon a bit on me. I also usually wear petite when available and these are long on me, but still wearable. I can wear a base layer and then some with these pants. I realize waterproof pants need to be a little baggier but given the stretch in the fabric, they are still a bit roomier than they need to be for my size. The pants have a long enough zipper & velcro vent on the bottom that allows you to get them on and off over shoes, but given how roomy these are I didn't need to use this feature at all (granted I wasn't wearing boots). The pockets are really handy and have both a waterproof zipper with a sizable welt covering to the pockets are really protected from moisture. I still felt a little "humid" in these pants, as they aren't very breathable. Even with all these caveats, these pants are so much more comfortable than older waterproof pants and worth updating.
Kept my legs dry, great pant
Finally got a cold, and wet rainy day in Arizona to try these pants. I ordered a Large ( I am 5’6” and 153lb.) they are fine in the waist but very loose in the legs. I thought I should have ordered a M but then when I wore them in the cold, I realized the extra room will be beneficial for layering. Keep this in mind when ordering. They do not have any insulation from the cold, but will be perfect for spring/summer storms. The pockets are deep enough for a phone and have zippers. The pant bottoms have zippers and snaps to secure them over boots. They are long enough to keep the top of your feet covered. I stood out in the rain for about 5 minutes to test them. The rain just beaded off the pants and I did not get wet or feel any moisture. They did exactly as they are advertised to do. Highly recommend!
styyyyylish!
i’m one of those people that needs function AND style. i can’t be happy with just functional. it kills me on the inside😂. i just got these in the mail and tried them on. they’re adorable.. i can’t wait to wear them. i’m 5’4 with an athletic build and they fit me perfect. i can tell they have ample space for layers but aren’t too baggy. i bought them for coaching soccer on rainy days and they are professional looking. i haven’t yet tested for waterproof ability but i trust rei brand and the other reviews leave me expecting good things. the only thing i would change about them is deeper pockets. they are perfect to fit a phone and a pen, or your hands but that’s about it. i like to have deeper pockets in rain pants so i can fit my hands in there (to keep warm) without touching my phone much. but i’m still happy with them. thanks rei!
2X Fit is great for me!
This is a very roomy 2x and would fit nicely over jeans or tights. A 2x looked so tight on the waist of the plus size model that I also ordered a 3X to be sure the waist would fit my 46" waist. (I don't even stretch the elastic of the 2x.) The waist can be cinched with the toggle to fit smaller waist sizes. There is extra room for my 49" hips without the hips being excessively baggy. I'm 5'7" and the length is great--hits the laces of my shoes. The pockets are placed conveniently. Given other reviews attesting to water- and windproofness, I'm should be all set for a cruise around the British isles.
very comfortable with pockets for petite ladies
very comfortable. petite size comes in 28" inseam, 2 front waist pockets with zippers and covered hems so repel rain from entering the pockets. stylish and can fit body with the drawstring waist band. only giving this item a 4 because the fabric seemed to start pilling or a loose thread seemed to appear prior/during my first wear with them. a possibility this could be related to the fabric quality management. unsure of the reason but i would assume this fabric should be able to resist abrasions since it was designed for hiking in the rain regardless of the terrain/environment
