Lightweight warm boot but with a strange fit
It's not winter yet here in Southern Maine but I did take these out on a few cool Fall walks. I really have mixed feelings about these boots. The pros: Very lightweight, super warm and plush inside. Comfortable to wear without socks. While I didn't wear them in the snow or ice, it also seemed like they had good traction. The cons: I personally don't like the thick sole/platform. I felt like I was walking on stilts. I also found the fit odd for my foot. I felt like they ran a bit small length-wise. My toes were definitely hitting the end of the shoe and that was without socks. And while the length seemed short the heel seemed wide. I was stepping out of the boot to the point it really wasn't comfortable to walk very far.
Warm but heel slips
Follow the reviewers and size up. These boots fit snugly one size larger than I normally wear. They are a little tough to put on, you’ll need to use your hands. Once on they feel cozy with the faux fur lining and keep my feet warm. Unfortunately the heel slips a lot when walking. It feels like the heel of the shoe is too shallow and prevents me from walking completely normally- I have to sort of “hold on” to the boot with my foot. I have skinny ankles and heels though, so maybe others don’t have this issue. I think sizing down would make the rest of the boot too small. As far as style, these are definitely more about warmth than aesthetics, but that is my opinion. I don’t love the stitched-in lines across the top of the boot, but I think they are there to aid the leather in moving when you walk. Overall I wouldn’t recommend these, simply because of how bad the heel slips.
Warm, comfortable and waterproof boots
I received these boots for free from REI Trailblazers in exchange for an honest review. These are from an indigenous company which made me excited to try them out. The boots are chunky, waterproof and stylish. The lining is soft and thick which makes them very warm. Wearing these boots feel like wearing your favorite pair of slippers. I look forward to wearing them for apres ski and around town. The soles look like they will grip well on snow or ice. They are not for snow shoeing or hiking.
Cute Casual Boots designed by Indigenous People
These boots are really cozy. I love the height and that they are both causal but cute. They're perfect for colder fall and winter days with a light dusting. Probably not great for lots of snow as they have wide tops and a larger platform than I realized so would allow for lots of snow to fall in your shoes and not offer a lot of stability in snow. I also really liked that these boots are designed by indigenous communities. The sizing is slightly different from other shoes. I'm typically a 7 and ordered an 8 as they said they are small for size. My heel moves a lot in the back which may be the design but I did want a slightly snugger fit and wish I would have gone with a smaller size.
Cute, comfy, and cozy!
Super snuggly and are really supportive for a soft suede boot! The soles have great cushion in addition to being soft and warm. They’re clearly very well made and seem really durable. They’re true to size. I’ve been wearing them pretty much every day since I got them and I don’t plan on taking them off all winter!
Great on/off boot for cold days
I bought these boots for heading out to the bus stop on cold, snowy mornings and walking into work. They are really cute and extremely cozy, with good footing. I've been really happy with them thus far! The only reason I took a star off was sizing. I'm usually a 7-7.5 in shoes and bought an 8 based on the advice to size up. The 8 was initially very tight and my toes were almost to the end of the boot. They were also extremely difficult to get on. After several days of daily wear, the insulation formed to my foot and they now fit fine. I'm able to get them on much more easily without yanking on the pull tab now that they are broken in, too.
Cozy, warm and supportive!
These boots are cozy and warm. I wore them camping in State Forest State Park in CO. It got below freezing and they kept my feet warm around the fire and in the campground. They are stylish and the sole has a lot of grip. I've had other boots like this and these are the most supportive for my feet. They run small. I ordered an 8 because I usually wear an 8 in boots. They are a full size too small so order a size up.
Cozy Slip Ons
These little booties are very comfortable. The moment you put them on the fluffy insides create a soft nest for your feet. The insole is also padded and warm. The rubber soles on the bottom provide great traction and rebound from concrete. When walking in wet leaves I didn't notice any slipping on the pavement. I wore these around for running errands, walking my dog, and very light adventuring. I found that they lifted at the heel while walking, which was not painful but not enjoyable. When wearing short socks this caused my socks to roll down inside the boots. Obviously this isn't a sock issue with long calf height socks, but just know if you slip them on to run to the store it could be problematic. So far I haven't had issues with water. I wore them in the rain and my feet stayed dry. I didn't fully submerge my feet in water to fully test waterproofing but so far they have held up! I wore them in 60 degree temp without feeling too hot, but also in low 40s and they kept my feet appropriately warm! Depending on foot and ankle proportions you may or may not get the heel slipping that I did. I found they ran true to size. I normally wear a size 6 in most street shoes and ordered a 6 in these. A smaller size would be too tight to wear in hopes of correcting heel slippage. They are on the narrow side compared to some other common name brand suede booties. This wasn't an issue for me (a standard foot width) but I don't think the standard size would work for a wide foot. Overall I think they are a nice boot, and may be just what you are looking for in a short slip on.
Cozy, but a bit snug
These slipper boots were really cozy and would be great to wear inside a cabin after a day of skiing or snowshoeing. They were a bit tight on one of my feet, but I think that a full size up may have been too loose. I'm not sure that I would wear them outside since they seemed more like a slipper than an outdoor boot, but great to know that they are waterproof in case I decide to test them out!
Comfortable, warm and perfect slip ons!
These boots are warm, cozy and perfect to slip on after many activities - such as hot yoga, a fall hike or a chilly mountain bike ride. Easy to slip on and off, thought they do run a bit small - order at least a size up!
