Never again

I used the size 2 to carry a Fisher space pen on my belt loop. The pen was attached to the carabiner with an o-ring--the old fashioned kind you have to wrestle around 3 times. Much to my amazement, after a day of mild hiking (no slithering through tight spaces), the pen and o-ring were gone. Empty carabiner on my belt, apparently with no damage, still springy. The only way for houdini to have escaped was the s-carabiner opening. Bad luck. So i bought another S-carabiner and another space pen. And two hikes later, the same thing happened! I'm changing brands because i don't trust the flimsy looking locking one either.

Hi Mark, we are sorry to here that! I do think the locking ones would work a lot better and be much more secure. We would be happy to help you with this if you reach out to us at info@niteize.com.

Just what I needed!

I was looking for some mini-caribiners to hook a couple of small tools onto my camera tripod. I bought the #1 S-Biner (2-pack) at a hardware store. They were small enough and so very easy to clip on and off. They work so much better than regular carabiners! So happy I found them!

Love the lock

I have used these for a while. I bought the slide lock one and lost one of the slides. Wonder if I could purchase. Other than that I love these.

Like the Idea; Wonder about Springs

Until now, I've used a heavier, standard clip on my belt for a long watch chain style keychain. I bought these for a better looking option. I have examined them and I'm sure they will work fine, but have not actually worn them yet. Concerning the one bad review concerning seizing up with seawater exposure, I wonder if that might not happen with almost all such hooks. I wonder how many designers and manufacturers think about what the internal spring will be made of and whether it will be as resistant to corrosion as the stainless clip itself.

great design. Durable. Attractive

backpacker here. found these years ago. -they also come in plastic harder to find go to Home Depot for that. Most metal ones can find in any hardware store. -they come in colors, sizes -they are durable metal material but not heavy -UNLIKE REGULAR DESIGN THE SPRINGS DONT BREAK AS EASY -the allow you to LEAVE THE CARABINER ATTACHED to backpack etc WHILE TAKING OFF ITEMS FROM OTHER END unlike regular design carabiners. good for safety -fairly priced

I ordered the wrong size - hooray!!!!!

We use these at my job to keep the lock and the keys together when we do lock out tag out while doing cleaning or repairs on machinery. Just going off of memory at home, when wanting to hang some glass orbs from delicate chain for a few plants, I guessed at the size ordered these and they were way smaller and even kind of cute if you will- much more suited for my purpose. Lucky little accident.

No locking system - carabiner and item are gone!

As I attached an item to my backpack with one of the newly-purchased carabiners, I expressed concern that it had no locking system. My husband assured me that gravity would keep it in place. Alas, I discovered both the item and the carabiner missing during our journey to Iceland. I now only have 2 of the 3 carabiners from the pack and don't trust either of those to keep items attached and safe.

Outstanding customer support

I bought key chain from niteize at a local hardware store. I was having trouble with it is as a couple of times my keys came off, then I lost a key to my vehicle and it was going to be expensive for a locksmith to come out and replace it. I called niteize and was made aware that when I bought the key chain that the locks that came with it were missing. Nitieze reimbursed me the cost of making the new key even though it wasn't there fault that the locks had been removed somehow when on display at the store. This is outstanding in my opinion in this day an age to find a company that was really concerned and made good is so unusual. I love my new niteize products that were sent to me at no charge and would never use anything else. I feel wonderful knowing I can recommend a company that really cares about there customers and there experience. Get niteize products they are really good and from a company that is head and shoulders above the rest.

Must have

I love these things and highly recommend them. I used to use these to attach my kevlar to my pack, flak, or whatever else I could use it for. I use it now for my keys, and hiking bags to attach whatever does not fit in the pack. If anything, ever gets messed up I know the carabiner is fine and I just did not attach it well enough.

good light duty clips

These are double clip, non-climbing strength carabiners. Great for all those things under 75 pounds. Nice to have two separate clips, as that can be handy and helpful in certain situations. Perhaps there is a lockable version? If not, that would be nice also. Not cast aluminum, so shouldn’t crack fail, but that’s just a guess.
