Very comfortable. Lacing plus zip plus Velcro make for a very secure fit.
Was very excited to use these boots, only to find that they excruciatingly uncomfortable. I was using them for classic skiing and the pinch point at the forefoot was unbearable. After several attempts of trying to break them, I finally decided to return to REI. Absolutely loved the styling of the boot, but the figment was absolutely awful. I don’t normally have problematic feet, so would not recommend them.
I bought these with the intent of skate-skiing, but lost interest - now I use them only for classic xc and I love the extra support. A few years later I bought 10 different boots for my girlfriend to try on, and she liked these the best. 6 stars.
This boot seems great for my (not particularly competitive) middle schooler.
