This is at least the 3rd pair of this model I have bought over the recent years. They all look great and are super comfortable. However, the durability has been poor each time. They all tend to fail a bit too soon on pretty much the same spots. The slim plastic shoe string simply cuts through the fabric on top surface of the shoe with normal wearing. Just from the normal friction. Right above and behind the toes. In addition, the shoe cracks on the side way too easy. Right where the rubber components meet the fabric. The current pair I have is relatively new and hasn’t even seen rain nor a real sunny and hot day. I have a few pairs of different shoes so this is not my only pair of daily shoes. This shoe has not been on any trials or rugged road yet. Simply disappointing!

I bought I would change up my colour choice this time normally I get the all black XA Pro, this time I added some colour to my footwear…. I always buy Goretex they keep my feet dry in the rain, snow or dew in the grass, Goretex also allows your feet to breath. I wear these for everyday shoes, they provide good traction, reasonable padding, great lacing system. Dressy enough for my lifestyle. This pair is probably my tenth or twelfth pair. The sizing is pretty bang on, I wear merino wool socks all year.
Bought a pair of these - size 12.5 wide in mid may 2025 for dog walking. In less that 2 months they have failed. The soles have eroded similar to slick racing tyres on places. Two small holes have appeared near to the toes on both shoes which is inexplicable - and when walking through wet grass they leak extensively. Initially was very happy with these but the build quality and durability just isn’t there. Walk about 10000-15000 steps a day over grass and paths/ pavement. Overall very disappointed at how quickly these have given up - and are over priced for how long they have lasted. Very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend
I like this but I think there must be some grey luminous parts on it same as previous model on the sides, which I send you in photo.compare
I needed a more durable shoe than the Alphacross 5 for work so I purchased the XA PRO 3D 9 Goretex. This is the durability I was seeking, the ankle stability it great and I love the quick lace. No more having to tie my shoes all day. I think the fit and over all comfort is superior to my Alphacross as well. I’m super happy with these!
I've bought 5+ pairs of these shoes, and the lacing system always breaks well before soles wear down or the rest of the shoe should need replaced. You can buy a replacement lace kit, but it seems impossible to relace through the super-small eyelet. Very poor design.

Their strength decreases from the bottom to the top. The rubberized toe is hyper durable, I think it can be made twice as thin. In my case, the upper fabric tore. As I understood, when bending the boot, the glued part pulls the fabric outward and tears it. I specifically chose these boots because visually they looked very durable and reliable. So I was a little surprised to see this. I had no problems with them in the rain - my feet stayed dry, there is a feeling of dampness on wet grass, but I can't say for sure, because I was walking when holes appeared, and my feet were already sweaty. In any case, they almost do not evaporate moisture and are hot.
I’ve been using XA Pro 3D V9 GTX since I first started trail walking back in 2018, and they are my go to trail trainer, this is my 5th pair. Once broken in they are like a pair of slippers on my feet, combined with Injinji Toe Socks I have not suffered a blister. All my previous pairs have been thoroughly put to the test, covering 100km plus in under 24 hours, without a single issue. A top quality product, that I will always come back to. One thing though, could we have some more vibrant colours please. My first pair were bright green, then grey, black, white & pink and now light green and white. Could we have the bright green version again please?
I was apprehensive at first about purchasing these hiking shoes because I've only worn Oboz in the past. Oboz was the only manufacturer making wide hiking shoes but I was happy to see other brands are now doing the same. Solomon is a quality name brand, so I pulled the trigger when they were on sale. They are true to size and the materials are top notch. I've only wore them a few times and haven't put any serious miles on them yet. But I'm happy with the fit with very little break in needed. The only complaint is the online pictures made the tan color version look more olive green. But other than that, they should be able give me many years/miles of use.
Ive been wearing Solomons for 20+ years. Had 3 pair of ultra in a row, all fell apart in the first months. I purchased all 3 at once when they were available in my size, since I had been wearing that shoe for 10yr and like them so much. Tried a new pair of XA pro 3d. Shoes seem okay, but only worn then a few times and the spring loaded part of the quick-laces has failed and laces are frayed. Going tk have to find a new brand. Previously, I reccomended Solomons as the best shoe Ive ever owned, now a waste of money.
